Year 5 have set the school a very healthy challenge for Lent. Their proposal includes only fruit for playtime snack and lunches to consist of either a school healthy dinner or a sugar free pack lunch from home containing just sandwiches and fruit. Star Anise Chefs will provide for children having pack lunches a healthy pudding, a “packet of crisps alternative” and access to vegetable crudités. Water will be provided as the healthy drink for all children. Children not eligible for a free meal will be able have a full school healthy dinner for the reduced cost of £1.50 for the whole of Lent. Let’s get healthy together, as part of the feedback from parents we are also incentivising staff to eat with children too. Well done to the Year 5/6 Rugby Squad and Year 3/4 Netball Team who braved the recent bitterly cold weather to compete against other schools. Their perseverance and team spirit was fabulous! Hope you have a great holiday and we look forward to seeing you back on Monday 22nd February for a very healthy short term leading up to Easter. CLASS NEWS

Rec Class

Our action this week in Maths is adding numbers

together. In Literacy we have been learning describing

words and putting them in a sentence to make it sound

better (e.g. We have ten yellow chicks and they live in

a blue box.) We have been holding our chicks and they

are growing fast and even started to slap their wings.

Y5 came down on Tuesday with some pancakes for us to

try. They were yummy.

By all Reception Class

Y1 Class

We have been innovating the story of ‘The Little Red

Hen,’ we changed the characters and the settings. We

enjoyed Yr5’s pancakes and have been learning about

Lent. What are you giving up for Lent ?

By all Y1

Y2 Class

We have finished our story of Traction Man—he ended

up safely back home. We have learnt how to count and

make amounts using different coins.

By Holly Wooldridge & Codie Palmer

In English we have been having a debate about

Goldilocks and the Three Bears. In Maths we have

been doing multiplication and in Art we have been making

Lego Collages. We have been writing some really hard

test this terms !

By Grace Parmenter & Theo Jones

Y4 Class

On Monday, in Maths we learnt division and it was fun

learning something new! In Literacy we have been doing

loads of tests! In our Topic lesson all of Y4 watched

and took notes on a clip of the Lego Movie and answered

questions about the movie. On Tuesday we learnt about

E-Safety.

By all of Y4

Y5 Class

This week has been exciting because it was Pancake Day

on Tuesday, so we made pancakes! Our favorite filling

was lemon. We really enjoyed them . Also on Tuesday

on Wednesday and learnt backstroke. Overall, this has

been one of the best weeks of the term!

By Miguel Da Silva & Daisy-Mai Griffiths

Y6 Class
