Organization Profile

History:

“In Indonesia, established since January 11, 2012 and is housed in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering UI, NACE Student Chapter Universitas Indonesia (NACE SC-UI) was formed and became the first scientific and professional organization for student in the field of corrosion in Indonesia. This organization was founded on the based on a form of awareness with students to the phenomenon of corrosion, losses incurred, as well as the prevention of corrosion in various sectors.”

Some of Activities in 2012 that NACE SC-UI successfully held up well are:

• Monthly Meeting (5x times).

• Guest Lecture (4x times).

• Company Trip.

• Graduation Member (3x times).

• 2013 NACE SC-UI Chairman Exploration & Election.

Monthly Meeting

• Regular meeting for NACE SC-UI members on every months to discuss particular theme.

Guest Lecture

• Regular meeting every 2 months, by bringing guest speakers (lecturers, practitioners, industry, or alumnee). Some titles that was delivered by speaker such as:

1. “Corrosion Hazard: Challange in Petroleum Industry” – by Mr. Deden Supriytaman, NACE IJS Trustee.

2. “Damage Mechanism of Static Equipment in Oil and Gas Industry” – by Mr. Harlion Bahar, Offshore Integrity Engineer, Rasgas Co Ltd.

3. “CO2 Corrosion in North West Java Sea and Its Monitoring & Mitigation” – by Mr. Ifan Rifandi, Corrosion & Chemical Lead, PT. Pertamina Hulu Energy ONWJ.

4. “Martensitic Stainless Steel” – by Mr. Kukuh Soerowidjojo, Area Sales Manager, Sandvik Materials Technology.

Company Trip

• NACE SC-UI member visit to industry, for review corrosion problem that occur and mitigation method in the industry.

Graduation Member

• NACE SC-UI members graduation day, in 2012 already held 2 times, also 1 times in 2013.

2013 NACE SC-UI Chairman Exploration & Election

• There are two candidates, and Muhammad Ryan Junaldi elected as Chairman of NACE SC-UI 2013.
