    Foreword by Wayne Stokes, Chairman

The end of another year, and a sad one for the group as we lost

our dear friend, the much respected Chris Wildey early on in

the season. His final appearance was at Brighouse, and there is

a photo of him included in this first volume of 2015.

Once again I would like to thank all those members who took

part in the many events featured here. We all do a

tremendous job bringing history alive for local communities

and event visitors. This is despite some scurrilously bad

reporting by some of the national newspapers - in particular

the Daily Mail - whose editors just don't get what it is that re-

enactment is all about. Their disgracefully poorly researched

online piece following Brighouse in June 2015 published over

20 photos taken by their photographer at the event, 80% of

which did not show our members, yet all of the people dressed

in German gear were alleged to belong to Northern Forties.

Some of our members had to endure a period of unfair

publicity, which we have come to expect from a rag too dirty to

    even use as loo paper.

On a positive note, our group's own event at Hooton Park

proved to be a success with local people and other local re-

enactors, so we are running it again in 2016. I hope that as

many of you as possible will be able to attend and participate,

and Maggie and I look forward to seeing as many of you as

    possible in the new season.

    Foreword by Mark Anthony Craig,

    Secretary

The end of another year - and a particularly sad one for me,

losing my dear mother over christmas. Although, because of

her increasing illness over the years, my mother was never able

to attend an event to see me "dressed up", she had faithfully

stitched badges onto my German uniforms in the early days

when I started re-enacting. She was initially surprised when I

graduated from doing RAF to Luftwaffe, but said she

understood that it was important to remind the younger

generation of what it was like for her generation enduring the

bombing raids when she was little girl.

This year was more of a challenge for me to find photos of our

members. Some of you very keenly send me your efforts

during the year, but I suspect that several of our members take

up so much time talking to interested visitors that they forget

to take photos of themselves at events. Therefore, moreso

than I would have liked, I have had to raid the internet for

photos taken by keen photographers who follow WW2 re-

enactors. I am grateful to acknowledge the work of some of

them here: Paul Gregory Mills, Chris Hall, Digimark

    Photography, Alison French amongst others.

In a few years time, you will look back on this annual record of

our group's activities and say to yourself and your friends: "Oh

yes! I remember when...... Remember that?"
