CEMETERY PRAYERS – NEXT SUNDAY In anticipation of All Soul’s Day, prayers for those who lie in Holy Rosary and St. John’s Cemeteries will be held next Sunday, October 28 th , at 2:00pm beginning in the church. Service will include Adoration, Scripture Readings, Prayers and Benediction. Concluding prayers will take place at the shrines at Holy Rosary Cemetery and St Joseph’s Cemetery, weather permitting. CEMETERY REMINDERS A summer of almost constant rain has taken its toll on area roads and yards. It has also taken its toll on our cemeteries, causing more settling, and slowing the process of leveling stones and low spots, and placing new monuments. PLEASE – FOR YOUR SAFETY - USE EXTREME CAUTION IN BOTH CEMETERIES. Stay on roads wherever possible. Visit only during daylight hours. Do not visit before dawn or at/after dusk. Also, please do not dump at the lower portion of St. Joseph’s Cemetery, and do not remove large quantities of dirt without the knowledge of Fr. Polednak or parish staff. Large ruts have been created by machinery doing just that, without parish permission or knowledge. Please respect those buried at St. Joseph’s, and remember, rows of graves are being added to the lower end – please stop using it as a trash pile for home yard waste, out of respect for the dead. Thank you for your cooperation and patience. YOU ARE INVITED for an evening of Saints and Holy Souls: Halloween from a Catholic Perspective, WHEN: Sunday, October 28, 2018, from 5:30-6:45 PM. We will finish in time for 7:00pm Mass WHO: Everyone (Children under 12 need to be accompanied by an adult) WHAT: A Celebration of Halloween, All Saints and All Souls, with a candlelight visit to the Cemetery. WHERE: Gather in the Holy Rosary Church Hall WHY: to gain Knowledge of why we as Catholic Christians show love for our Saints, Martyrs, and departed Loved Ones through our reverence for relics and cemeteries WHAT DO I NEED? MIRACULOUS MEDAL NOVENA AND ROSARY – TUESDAYS AT 6:30 We pray firstly for survivors of abuse, and for the holy Church, and for our families. Let us draw near to our Lord in faith and trust, bringing him our every need, and also beseech His Mother to intercede for us before the throne of God.

ROSARY FOR VOCATIONS – We pray each weekend before all Masses for good, strong, and holy vocations to the priesthood, specifically here in the Diocese of Scranton. Rosary Starts at 25 minutes before Mass time. Without Priests, there is no Mass – Confession – Anointing – or Eucharist. Consider sacrificing some time by coming early, and praying to God, trusting that he will hear and answer us.

WELL DONE, WOMENS’ SOCIETY! The Women’s Society of our parish recently hosted an Octoberfest for the residents of the Crossin Towers. The event featured many of the wonderful foods and treats that October offers, and those who attended had the chance to win several prizes. A good time was had by all!!

WOMENS’ SOCIETY MONTHLY MEETING will be held on Thursday, October 25th, beginning at 6:30pm in the meeting room. The agenda for the remaining months of 2018 will be discussed as well as plans for the upcoming Winter Social. We encourage our members to attend. New Members welcome. Light refreshments will be served after the meeting.
