Its Habitat and Where it lives This animal lives in a part of Indonesia Mostly on Komodo Island
These reptiles live in extremely dangerous conditions
Extreme heat, deadly animals, volcanoes, tidal waves, and earthquakes inhabit these islands
Interesting Facts When Komodos are hot they make burrows they also sleep in the
burrows These animals can last a while without water They hunt a variety of animals buffalo, deer, pigs, snakes, monkeys, and goats
They can grow up to 12 ft long and weigh up to 300 pounds There saliva is also poisonous Its average life span is 30 years
They are solitary animals Although they congregate on large kills They usually wander their whole lives These animals lay about 20 to 25 eggs
Why is it Endangered Poaching, human encroachment and natural disasters have
contributed to making them endangered There are only about 3000 to 4000 Komodos in Indonesia Efforts are being made by the Indonesian government to protect
the dragons from poachers Some zoos are also creating breeding programs
