On my way to a fancy diner Gusto Di QuattroRestaurant located in North Vancouver, I took the

lions Gate Bridge. It took about 14 minutes to gofrom Stanley Park to the restaurant. The lions gatebridge is elected a National Historic site of Canada.

The Lions part of the name refers to the pair ofmountain peaks north of Vancouver. After dinner Iwent straight to my hotel. I sure was pooped today!Night: Riviera Hotel $125Hotel is situated only 1mile(2km) from Stanley park. I

started on the road at about 11:00am after I had acomplimentary breakfast at the hotel. Thegoodnights sleep got me adjusted to the time.

    Day 2.

It took 4 hours (356km) to drive from Vancouver toKamloops. When I arrived (3:00pm) I had a bite toeat at one of their few Tim Hortons. I went straightto the Secwepemc Museum and Heritage Park. I wasthere for about 2 hours. This is an Indian museumfocusing on the culture of the Shuswap and the

Salish Indians.I saw my first birch bark and dugoutcanoe on display, and I also learned how to usenative fishing and hunting methods.I noticed there were white spruce trees in Kamloopstoo. I believe white spruce trees are distributed allacross Canada, because so far I have seen them inOntario and all the way here in British Columbia.Around 5:00 I decided I would have a dinner andmovie night, I need a change instead of walkingaround all day. I went to Paramount Theatre and theyonly had three movies listed for showI can tell thistown is very isolated. After I had dinner at DeesCountry Cookin I checked in to my hotel AccentInns at around 8:30.

    Day3.

The next day, after my complimentary breakfastof course, I returned my rental car at the Kamloopsairport and took a flight to Iqaluit, Nunavut. The costwas $828 and the duration was 14 hours. Nunavuthas about 27 cities/communities of Nunavut onebeing Iqaluit which is the largest and most populatedof Nunavut and is also the capital of Nunavut.

Nunavut has a small amount of vegetation due to itscold and icy climate. So Nunavut is not used foragriculture, it doesnt take a genius to figure thatout. The official languages of Nunavut are Inuktitut,Inuinnaqtun, English and French. About 69% ofpeople from Nunavut speak Inuktitut, about 26%English, about 1% French and 1% Inunnaqtun.I arrived in Iqaluit at 12:00pm. When I arrived I sawhardly saw any roads at all, just ice! Due to theglaciers I didnt want to rent my own car so I called ataxi to drive me to my next destination. I took aNorthwinds Arctic Adventure and I got taught topush my own dogsled team. I enjoyed the never-ending north arctic tundra landscape. After dinner I

I was really excited tosee all the attractions but it was getting late and Istill needed to eat dinner and check in to my hotel.I was hoping for hot, hot weather, but the summers

here are typically cooler than British Columbia orOntario.I stayed at the Cambridge Suites Hotel andgot one of the cheapest rooms for $169.

Bartons magnificent paintings. After and hour Ivisited another division of the museum called GreenPark Shipbuilding museum and Yeo house. I exploredthe Victorian rooms. The next division was theAcadian museum and learned about the treasures

related to the Acadians. I went to lunch at BrothersTwo Restaurant. After I went shopping at theConfederation Court mall, which has more than 90stores.At 2:00pm I visited the Province House inCharlottetown. I learned that this building was builtto accommodate the provincial legislature andadministrative offices.

I see that PEI is cradled in a vast ocean of salt water.Fresh water streams and rivers flow through rollinghills; small communities are scattered throughout, with a patchwork of forests and fields.PEI has about 1600 kilometres of coastline. In manyplaces, wind and tide have eaten into the bedrock, leaving rugged sandstone cliffs. I headed back tomy hotel and had dinner there. I went to bed early

because I was going to have a long car trip to myway back home.

    Day 7.

Today I had a big breakfast in my hotel, and at10:00 headed my way to Ottawa. On my way I wenton the Confederation Bridge. This was very excitingbecause I get to see the beautiful Atlantic Oceanbeside me as I drive 12.9km.This is the longestbridge in the world to cover ice-covered salt water. Idrove 7hours non-stop (except for occasionwashroom and Tim Hortons drive thru pit stops) Ifinally reached Grand Falls at 5:00pm. Grand fallshas a population of 30 000 people in a radius of

30km. I noticed that people here are almost allbilingual. The region contains valleys, high plateaus, two great rivers, and countless streams and lakes.

The fields of potato, wheat and clover create apicturesque scene of rolling hills, a patchwork ofcolours. Three main industries reside in Grand Falls:

potato farming, potato processing (The McCainfrozen food plant) and tourism. I had a potato filleddinner at the 50th Regional Potato Festival 2010. Iwent to my hotel Castle Inn and went to bed at8:00pm so I would be well prepared to get out on the

    road again for tomorrow.

Day 8.After 8 long hours of driving I reached Montreal. Idecided to go to the Montreal Olympic Park. I wenton a guided tour of the stadium and sports centre. Iwas impressed with their swimming pools, and thefine modern architecture. I learned that before this

stadium had a roof top it was a giant elliptical shell, open at the center and topped with a post of living175 meters high. I got to swim for free on theswimming pools, I felt pride to swim in the samewaters the Olympians do.

I went to the Montreal Tower Observatory later onthe day. It has a 175-metre elevation and 45-degreeangle.The view of Montral is as unique as it isexceptional. Since today was a clear day, I was ableto see 80 kilometres all around, including the

Laurentian Mountains. I also went to one of two oftheir souvenir shops located at the foot of theMontreal Tower. Thank god the clerks are bilingualand not just French speakers.

    Day 9.

I woke up at 10:00 and arrived home after a couple

    of hours.SOURCES
