Every seat is permanently labeled with a serial number, a one-year warranty and our toll free telephonenumber. If a product appears defective, call Mustang to obtain a Return MerchandiseAuthorization form (RMA). All returns must be carefully packed to avoid shipping damage;you are responsible for return shipping charges. Mustang will, at their discretion, repair orreplace the defective portion of the seat or accessory and return it to you freight paid.Incidental or consequential damages or labor charges arising from or in connection withinstallation or use of a Mustang product are not covered by this warranty.

Seat Styles &DescriptionsVariations of styles and descriptions are availabledepending on the make and model. Some seats havea two-piece look but are built on a single baseplate.

Traditional style, modern comfort.

All Studded seats feature a skirt withbraided edge trim, chrome studs and leather tied conchos.Available in original or Wide Touring versions.

The same specificationsas the Studded style with the braided edge skirt but no studs, conchos or fringe.

The comfort of a Touring seat with a sporty, stylish look available with or

without studs.The ultimate in

comfort and versatility, the driver backrest is fully adjustable and

removes easily without tools. Available with or without studs and

conchos. Complete driver backrest kitsare available for most FL Ultra seats.

A sharply contoured design with sewn-in center panels but no buttons or unnecessary stitch work to clutter the clean look.

This lean, low look provides a clean profile while maintaining comfort through molded, controlled density polyurethane foam.

Soft pillow comfort with just enough folds and pleats to allow the

cover full freedom to flex andconform. Tufted with covered

buttons, the Regal style isoffered in several seat versions.

Cut low to the ground with enough molded foam to be comfortable. The tapered rear section flows smoothly to the fender, yet has adequate padding for use as a passenger seat.

What Makes Mustang Seats So Comfortable?Mustang’s president, Al Simmons, insists that not only must every Mustang seat be good enoughto go on an employee’s own motorcycle, each must be show bike quality! Mustang believes that,with a well-designed seat, there is no reason to be uncomfortable. You should always enjoy yourride--whether five miles or all day. Mustang seats are meticulously designed so that the base-plate, foam and cover components combine to make the finest, most comfortable seat possible.

Baseplate: All baseplates are designed and manufactured at the Mustang plant in New England.

Formed 16 gauge steel baseplates are black epoxy powder coated onboth sides for complete rust proofing. Carpet protects fender paint.

Exposed brackets arebright chrome plated.

FLHT/FLHR Ultra and 2006-08Dyna and 200mm wide tireSoftail baseplates are made of 3/16” thick, marine-gradefiberglass, finished in highgloss gel coat.

The edges of all baseplates have a steel reinforced, impact absorb-ing vinyl edge trim to protect the seat cover.

Polyurethane bumpersare strategically locatedand riveted to the base-plate to prevent it fromtouching the frame andfender and to minimizevibration.

Mustang’s unique internal steelsupport wings are added to thebaseplate to provide maximumpassenger comfort. These wingssupport the entire width of themolded foam. This feature is foundon most Mustang touring seats.

Foam: All foam is compounded and molded at our New England facility.

Controlled density polyurethane foamprovides all-day comfort. Mustangseats are known for retaining theirshape and support after years of use.

The exact shape, angle and density ofeach seat foam is formulated and castto be soft enough for comfort andresilient enough to stand up to those “thousand mile” days.

All covers are designed, cut and sewn at our New England facility.Cover:Covers are made of the highest quality expanded vinyl available. They have the appearance ofleather but the durability and resistance to the elements that exceed original equipment stan-dards for motorcycle seats. All seams are sewn twice for strength. The bottom edge that holdsthe cover to the baseplate is hemmed where the rivets hold the cover to the baseplate.

The edges of our seat skirts are finished with braid.Decorative studs are chrome-plated brass, not steel, andwill never rust. Conchos are custom, heavy die-cast zinc(not a thin stamping) and are hand tied with genuineleather straps. Our fringe is vat dyed leather so that thecolor goes all the way through.

Regal styles are tufted with covered buttons which aredouble tied with four cords, not two. Mustang seats donot lose their buttons.

Whenmounting the rear seat, align spool washer on top of the solo bracket and boltdown to the fender with the supplied bolt. The front of the rear seat is slotted andengages into the spool washer. One-Piece Baseplate FeaturesMustang one-piece FXR seats can be used on any model FXR. The formed steel baseplate hasboth a nose tongue as well as mounts for stock hinges and latches. A chrome rear tab securesto the fender with a stock screw. The advantage of the one-piece design is that the passen-ger seat on certain seat styles now extends forward to support the driver’s lower back with-out interfering with hinging. Once the rear screw is removed, either the whole seat can beunlatched and hinged up or, if using just the nose mount, simply lifted off. Rubber bumpershelp isolate vibration and carpeted base protects the fender. See page 7 for hardware.

The 14” wide solo angles back to hold the driver into the pocket and keep himfrom sliding forward, with more than an inch of increased leg room. Passenger seats are availablein 12” widths and are thicker than stock. Mustang recommends using the improved sissy bar padfor best fit. The 12” rear seat is supported by internal steel support wings to hold up the full widthof the foam. Mustang solos and rear seats can not be mounted alone and will not fit with Harleysolos and rear seats.

Mustang solos have a single chrome tab that aligns with the fender hole. When mounting the passenger seat, align supplied spool washer on top of the solo bracket and bolt down to the fender with the supplied bolt. The front of the passenger seat is slotted and engages into the spool washer. Align the rear mounting tab to the fender and secure.

Mustang Softail seats will NOT fit 1999-earlier FLSTS Heritage Springers.All seats are built on 16 gauge formed steel baseplates. A welded nose tab clips into

the frame mount behind the gas tank. The baseplates have rubber supports at contact points and carpet to protect the fender. See page 7 for hardware.

1984-06 Two-Piece BaseplatesSolos have two removable side brackets that align with the large threaded holes in all Softail frames. When the solo and rear seat are assembled, the side brackets on the solo can be removed and the seat mounted withjust the single rear screw. All rear seats are connected to the solo with two hidden screws.

Touring Smooth SeatsMustang Ultra Touring seats are narrower at the nose so the driver’s feet can easily reachthe ground. The baseplate has been contoured in front to eliminate the hard spots the rider

feels on long trips with the stock seat. The rear seat has wide internal support wings to keep the passenger up off the handrail. The seat is contoured to better clear the saddlebag lids

and is split to accept the stock driver backrest kit. Both styles feature a 18” wide front bucket with a 15” wide passenger seat.

Mustang’s unique skirted lids feature braided edge trim, studs and conchos, as well as classic braided accents on the bags that evoke a nostalgic look. These flat-backed bags with recessed front corners for axle clearance are made of reinforced fiberglass and covered with our high quality expanded vinyl.

Bags and lids feature a rubber seal to help make the bags ultra water resistant.The inside surface is lined with a durable felt-like material that is easy on the contents as well as the knuckles. Mustang Saddlebags are undrilled for a univer-sal fit that will clear most exhaust systems. Mounting hardware is not included;see below. Turn signal relocation may be required on some models.

Bags measure 26” long x 15” high x 9” wide with a 21” x 9” opening. Overallcapacity is 1,960 cubic inches per pair (17 quarts each). Holds half-helmets.
