We are looking for the following types of musician: Drums (drum kit, snare, lambeg, bodhran and more) Seeking musicians with ‘feel’, whose playing is enriched by a curiosity for the musicality behind drumming. Proficient technical skills will be simply a tool for the musicians to work towards many different qualities of play, engaging as a band to produce the percussive grooves of Shechter’s cinematic score, we are also specifically looking for one very technically proficient drum kit player. Strings (violas, cellos, double bass and violins,) Seeking string players who are interested in exploring a different and unique experience of play, open to experimenting with musical quality and sound alongside the HSC musicians. Classical and folk experience is welcome. Shechter’s scores tend to focus more heavily on the lower register (violas, cellos and double bass) however we are open to meeting violin players who are willing to experiment with the sound and quality that their instrument has to offer. Violin players who also play the viola are invited to bring both to the audition. The ability to read a score is a bonus but not essential if you play well by ear. Electric guitar and electric bass Seeking accomplished guitarists who will form the engine for the bands’ powerful melodies and gritty heavy-metal orientated riffs. The project offers a fee of £1750.
