Lyrics

I walk in slowlyGot eyes for you onlyGotta know, gotta see it through

My heart beats fasterMy next disaster’sIn stony eyes that belong to you

And oooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, oohOooh, ooh, ooh, oohOooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, oohOooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

Your breathing’s a lovely soundAnd we’re all alone nowMy hand’s shakin at the thought

Laid out in all my dreamsYou sittin' like a king in front of meMy mind’s a mess, my judgment’s gone

And yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeahYeah, yeah, yeah, yeahYeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeahYeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Comin’ on like a wayward trainYour bullet fired, your reckless aimBetween the thing you want and IThere is a line

I need your eyes, your teeth, your skinI need your air for rescuin’Between responsibility and fireThere is a line

Let’s cross it, yeah, yeah, yeah

Drifting back in Only to go out againI won’t sleep at all tonight

Keep on wishingReminiscing‘Cause there is a line

About Tamara Laurel…

Tamara was raised in the suburban-meets-country town of Woodinville, Washington, Tamara performed in numerous musicals all over the world during her youth.

Laurel’s relatable lyrics draw from her nostalgic, ruminating perspective and sit  atop  a blend of acoustic guitar picking and country-tinged instrumentation and percussion.

Her highly anticipated debut Extended Play Album “Lightning” is her very first foray into not only recorded music, but also producing, as she has a lead producer credit on the record. These 5 self-written songs were recorded with Grammy-winning Engineer Philip Allen (Adele), and Grammy nominated Engineer Luke Tozour (Katy Perry). LIGHTNING was released on January 7, 2014 and is available worldwide.

Why we chose this genre?

We have many other artists that we are familiar with, e.g. Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Hannah Montana to look at for inspiration and ideas.

Looking at the conventions of this genre it is clear to see that the clips usually take part in daylight which is appropriate for us as students to go out and film as opposed to grime/RNB which would most likely take place at night time which wouldn’t be as appropriate.

We have a variety of different settings in mind such as different parks, tube stations etc.

The settings include a school scene which is ideal for us as we have our school building. We need a school building because the age of our cast is from the 16 – 18 range.

The camera angles and editing techniques we have identified from other music videos are all things which we are capable of doing and learning how to do.

We also chose this genre because the actors that usually take part in these music videos are college kids from the ages of 16-18 which is ideal for us as this is our age range, therefore we know many people that will be able to star in it.

Similar Artists…

One artist that we believe make similar style songs and has the music videos that we are aiming for is TAYLOR SWIFT.

Taylor Swift has a big range of songs out such as ‘we will never get back together’ ‘love story’ and ‘tear drops on my guitar’ which we believe fit in really well with our chosen song as these songs are not too serious and all have the same school girl love story in them.

Due to all the songs mentioned above, we believe that we can analyse them and use them for inspiration for our chosen track if we get stuck or need help.

In addition, this type of music video will be able to be filmed without too much difficulty as the props and settings we have identified such as school corridor's, parks, guitars etc. will be easy to get hold of.

Storylines…

For this music video we have decided that there will be a story line narrative in it to accompany the track.

Although nothing is confirmed at the moment because it is early days, we do have some initial ideas about the narrative which include…

1) A typical love story, where a girl meets a boy. The love story starts with the narrative showing the girl admiring the boy who starts paying her some attention. As the track goes on the narrative will show how this couples love blossoms and changes over time.

2) A one sided love story where we show a girl that is in love with a boy that doesn’t seem to notice her at all. As the music video progresses it will show the girl pulling out all stops to make the boy realise her existence. If we go with this idea we are planning to include a dream sequence where all her fantasies come true.
