The Future – InterContinental Muscat Hills Golf Resort

By the end of 2014 Muscat Hills Members and guests will be enjoying a brand new 5-star Club House overlooking the 18th green and the 10th fairway. The new facility will offer impressive dining options in two F&B outlets, an expansive ProShop, stylish locker rooms and a bag store. All F&B outlets will be managed by the InterContinental Hotels Group. Further to this Muscat Hills signed a 20-year management agreement for the luxury InterContinental Muscat Hills Golf Resort in Oman. The hotel due to open in 2015 will form part of the 1.2 million square metre development set in a unique hillside location with spectacular panoramic mountain and sea views over the Gulf of Oman. InterContinental Muscat Hills Golf Resort will have a total of 250 rooms and four food and beverage outlets, a fitness centre, spa and swimming pool. The hotel will be located next door to the clubhouse. Muscat Hills started the construction of the second release of residential units in early 2013 and would take approximately 18 months to be finished. Muscat Hills Residences is a mixture of luxury Apartments, Townhouses and Villas.

The first Green Golf Course in the Sultanate

Opened in the end of 2009, Muscat Hills Golf Course was the first 18 hole grassed golf course to be built in the Sultanate of Oman. Designed by Paul Thomas of David Thomas and Associates the 72-par, 6383 meter golf course is uniquely designed over 45 hectors of land that boasts sea views and a spectacular back drop of the Al Hajar Mountains. The course is landscaped in and around the natural Wadi terrain offering generous fairways and challenging shots over the wadi escarpments. The course offers 5 teeing ground options and therefore caters to a wide range of golfing ability, with the main challenge coming from three of our par-3 holes that are played over the dramatic wadi escarpment. Members and regular visitors often comment on the fairness of the design of the course and how the course makes you want to come back time and time again. 18-hole green fees start from OMR 36.

Golf Academy

Muscat Hills Golf Academy is one of the top learning facilities in Oman. The 400-meter, fully floodlit driving range with 9 shaded bays and a practice putting green give golfers the opportunity to practice their game till late evening. The expansive grassed tee in front of the bays accommodates big number of golfers to practice at the same time. The covered practice area is mirrored at the opposite side of the driving range where the building of the new Golf Academy is situated. 100 up-lit palm trees, planted alongside the range, add a unique touch to the facility. The New Golf Academy with State-of-the-Art technologies is fully equipped to cater to all practice needed to improve a players game. In addition to the 8 spacious driving range bays it features an indoor private tuition studio and two separate practice greens. The Golf Academy features cutting edge technologies, including V1 digital swing analysis software and Flightscope to help improve all areas of golfers’ game. Muscat Hills Academy at all times is run by experienced qualified PGA teaching professionals.

Clubhouse

Muscat Hills offer a comfortable clubhouse facility open for members, residents and visitors. Our philosophy is to create a pleasant atmosphere for all guests where everyone is spoiled by delicious food and enjoys the comfort of the home club. We offer an all day menu and cater for functions and home parties of all sizes. We regularly run themed evenings and our popular terrace offers a relaxed dining al fresco experience. Our busy social calendar of quiz nights, theme parties, sports nights, disco evenings, etc welcomes all visitors and members. The fully licensed club house features a restaurant, terrace, golf shop and gents and ladies locker room facilities.
