This is how today’s studentcommunicates. This could cause
a language barrier betweengenerations and learning.

Our students have changed radically.
Today’s students are no longer the people
our educational system was
designed to teach.(Prensky, 2001)
Maybe it’s time our teaching matched our
audience?

Today’s students are part of the Net Generation (those born after 1980). Some interesting tidbits of
information about these learners:
Ambitious
Teamwork Oriented
Digitally Savvy
Demand ChallengesSelf-Confidence
Need for recognitionExpect more feedback
Used to being “heard”
