  • SALARY The average pay for a median wage worker is about $34.99 per hour. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, (BLS), jobs for veterinarians were projected to grow by 33% between 2008 and 2018, a faster pace than most occupations-bls.gov Reasons for the growth involved a surge in the feline population and pet owners placing more value on their pets' health and veterinary care. With many career avenues to choose from, such as large animal medicine, small animal medicine, animal research and zoology, the employment outlook for veterinarians appeared robust. The BLS reported that the median salary for veterinarians was $82,040 in 2010.- Degree Dictionary

  • UNION AND ASSOCIATIONS There isnt any real unions for veterinarians but I did find that the there are associations. The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), established in 1863, is a not-for-profit association representing more than 84,000 veterinarians working in private and corporate practice, government, industry, academia, and uniformed services. Structured to work for its members, the AVMA acts as a collective voice for its membership and for the profession. -AVMA

  • JOB OUTLOOK High number of jobs available not only in vet clinics but also at zoos, aquariums, and even in forest. Is there a chance that this career could be outsourced or moved to a different location that may leave you laid off or having to relocate? As technology advances, there is no chance is can replace the care of veterinarians, but it can improve the veterinary medicine. If an animal is injured and has an imputation heed only have three legs, but because of technology advancing they can get a prosthetic leg. Is there a lot of competition in this career? The career competition is low, because not many people get a degree for veterinary medicine, the salary will be high.
