Reports to Save Time

Reports
Session Settings
• Application to Fields – designate what program you want to view Finished Reports In
• Browse to the correct path using Gadget
Session Settings
• You can turn off the log and toggle the Format Popup – remember that Count reports results are all in the log though
• Format page – this is how you fix the page breaks on your Overdue notices etc
• Decent settings for Word : 63, 83, 2, 2 with .5 margins and size 10 font
• With different programs you’ll need to physically count!
Schedule Reports
• Templates – saved by you for reuse!– Or we can make you a template
• Tabs – grouped by library function (mostly they match the Modules across the top)
Finished Reports
• Use the Rabbit icon to Refresh – if you ran a report and it doesn’t show up right away – no need to re-run. Just wait!
• Reports only stay on server for 14 days – if you’re going to need the info – save it to your computer
Good Practices
• Always limit to your library
• Name things well (this doesn’t count as limiting)
• Always use Gadgets
Useful Things
• Including and Excluding
• Print Tab – full vs brief vs list
Item Statistics Report
• If you need counts of a bunch of sections – try this!
• Transactions Statistics Tab Column = Total Row = What you need
numbers for!
Average Date of Publication
• Serial Records in the MSC often only have 2 digits in the date field (19–) but the report reads this as 0019
• Put a lower limit on thePublication Year to help alleviate this!

• Batch removals of inactive patrons• Overdue notices!
Do you have call lists that don’t include phone numbers?
• Move items from Missing to Discard in one fell swoop
• Regular lists of items for collection maintenance
