MS Announcements: Monday, Sept. 24 th Middle School 1. Homecoming Spirit Week is this week. Dress-up themes are: Monday: Favorite Rock Star or College Day Tuesday: Neon or 80s Day Wednesday: Red, White and Blue Day (also picture day) Thursday: Group Dress-up Day Friday: Orange and Black Day 2. Jim Bisenius, who spoke to all HS and MS students last week, will be speaking to WLS parents tonight from 6:30-8:00pm in the cafetorium. All parents and students are invited to attend. 3. Attention seventh graders: There will be information about this year’s Chicago Trip at the Anti-Bullying program tonight. Parents of students wanting to go to Chicago on the seventh grade trip should see Ms. Moore tonight to get information. 4. Picture Day will be Wednesday, September 26 th for students in grades 6-11. 5. There will be a meeting for all middle school students who applied to be on the Middle School Yearbook staff TODAY from 11:00-11:10 in Mrs. Blair’s room. You may bring your lunch with you if necessary. 6. Seventh and Eighth Graders interested in participating in athletics this winter need to sign- up this week. Boys interested in middle school basketball or wrestling can sign-up in Mr. Taylor’s room. Girls interested in middle school basketball or cheerleading can sign-up in Mrs. Spencer’s room. If you are interested in participating, make sure you sign-up this week! 7. There will be a Homecoming Parade Thursday evening at 7:00 in West Liberty. The parade will start at Lions Park, head west on Pickrelltown, south on Main, and return to the park on SR 245. A pep rally and bon fire will follow at the park. 8. There will be a Homecoming Pep Rally at school on Friday at 2:10. 9. The Homecoming King and Queen Crowning Ceremony will take place at 6:15 at the football stadium on Friday before the game. 10. Middle school students interested in participating in Rocks and Ropes need to return registration forms and fees to Mrs. Hollar or their homeroom teacher by Wednesday, September 26 th . Rocks and Ropes will be here October 1 st , 2 nd , and 3 rd . If you want to participate, make sure you get the information from your homeroom teacher today and get the forms returned by Wednesday. Athletics 1. The 8th Grade Volleyball Team defeated Northeastern on Thursday. Lexi Jarrett led with 16 points and 2 aces. Camille Whitcraft had 13 points with 7 aces, Olivia Aimes had 7 points with 4 aces and 4 kills. Mikayla McIntosh had 10 kills. The Tigers are 3-6 and play at Cedarville today. 2. The 7th Grade Volleyball Team improved to 9-0 by defeating Northeastern on Thursday. Jonni Parker led with 15 points with 7 kills. Aubrie Stillings added 7 points. 4. The Varsity Football team improved to 5-0 by defeating Springfield Catholic Central 25-6 Friday night. 5. The Varsity Golf Team will play in the Sectional Golf Tournament tomorrow at Beechwood Golf Course. The bus will leave

WLS at 6:45am and the team will be out all day.
