Dog River is producing plenty of specks. White trout and ground mullet are biting at the Mobile Ship Channel markers. Plenty of specks are around Gaillard Island and the Theodore Industrial Canal. Specks are coming from Fowl River Bridge. McNally Park is holding reds, specks, white trout and ground mullet. Everything is still hitting live and dead shrimp. Use cut mullet, dead shrimp and squid for white trout, ground mullet and black drum. Specks also hit a variety of artificial baits from Gulps to Saltwater Assassins. 38 Souther-N-Bama 251-471-4939 7 Scott’s Landing 251-626-5323 Specks, reds and sheeps- head are still being caught on a line south of the Causeway from May Day Pier to the Brookley hole. Quite a few were caught under birds. North Pass at the triangle is holding specks, reds and sheepies. Game War- den Ditch, Bay Minette Basin and some of the creeks on the lower Delta are holding bass. Catfish are coming from the mouth of Yancey Ditch at the Blakeley River. Everything will eat live and dead shrimp under a cork. Live shrimp are working best for bass. Specks are also eating grubs under popping corks and MirrOlure Glad Shads around the pilings. Redfish, black drum, specks and a few white trout continue to bite in Pin- to Pass. Croaker, puppy drum and a few reds are coming from the seawall. White trout and a few ground mullet are still coming from Mobile Ship Channel markers at Arlington. Specks are still under birds out in Mobile Bay and at the golf course at Brookley. Live and dead shrimp for everything. Average 2-4 lbs. Range: Coastal Gulf of Mexico waters near structures, reefs. Eats crab, squid and shrimp. Food/sport quality: Excellent meat, throat considered delicacy. Nice specks and slot redfish are hitting well around the rock riprap and on edges and humps in the Theodore Industrial Canal. White trout are biting very well at the old homeport, canal channel markers, and the Bender/Austal Reef. A few specks and reds are coming from Gaillard Island. Everything is eating live and dead shrimp. Specks are biting Rat-L-Traps too. 82 Deer River Bait & Tackle 251-366-1629 The water in the Pascagoula River is dingy, but folks are still catching a bunch of specks, reds and flounder. The homeport and Bayou Heron and Bayou Cumbest are also holding specks. A bunch of shellcrackers were caught in Bluff Creek over the weekend. Specks and reds are hitting live shrimp and croaker best, though a few are coming on opening night- and gold-color grubs.
