God’s Not Dead! We Believe! Was the overall theme for the youth missions Sunday.
We heard testimonies from our youth about their experiences from their mission trips this
summer to Carolina Cross Connection (CCC) and Helping Hands missions’ camp.
Especially how God has impacted their lives and continues to work in them.
The youth shared not only in word, but as well with their musical gifts. What an
awesome morning!!! We heard stories of work projects from building decks to wheelchair
ramps. From replacing a toilet to weeding a flower bed. From replacing shingles to
painting. Besides all the work that was accomplished the main theme was knowing that
God has a plan and it might not be what we had in mind and being in control of all the
details. The youth and the leaders realized that as it says in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know
the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.” The God has it all in control and He will guide us
in and out of our comfort zones. All we have to do is have trust and faith.
On behalf of the youth and their leaders…THANK YOU Morris Chapel for your
love, support and prayers. We couldn’t have done these trips without you!
I want to share the lyrics that Ethan and Megan sang at the 8:45 and 11am worship
services which I believe is something we all can take and incorporate into our week.
“We Believe by The Newsboys”
“In this time of desperation, when all we know is doubt and fear, there is only one foundation.
We believe, we believe in this broken generation, when all is dark,
You help us see there is only one salvation. We believe, we believe.
We believe in God the Father, we believe in Jesus Christ,
we believe in the Holy Spirit, and He's given us new life.
We believe in the crucifixion, we believe that He conquered death,
we believe in the resurrection and He's comin' back again, we believe.
So, let our faith be more than anthems, greater than the songs we sing,
and in our weakness and temptations, We believe, we believe!
Let the lost be found and the dead be raised! In the here and now, let love invade!
Let the church live loud our God we'll say, We believe, we believe!
And the gates of hell will not prevail! For the power of God,
has torn the veil! Now we know Your love will never fail!
We believe, we believe!
And He's comin' back, He's comin' back again! He's comin' back again!
We believe! We believe!”
Grace and Peace,
Samantha

Clothes For A Journey Mission Project
My name is Sarah Joyce and I am working on my Girl Scout Gold Award. My project is “Clothes
For A Journey” and it is a clothing closet for homeless teenagers. The closet is going to be based at
Morris Chapel United Methodist Church in Walkertown, NC and it will be a place where homeless
and underprivileged teenagers can receive nice clothing for school and work.
What I need from you are donations of nice, clean clothing and accessories, referrals, and mission
volunteers. Donations of clothing can be dropped off at Morris Chapel Monday-Friday 9am-12pm.
Can you help? We are looking for volunteers in the following areas: mission team; sorting, folding
and hanging clothes and accessories (call/email for times); assisting teenagers as they visit the
closet; and advertising our mission to surrounding areas and agencies. Thank you!
