Blue Moon specializes in the technical and

audiovisual (AV) support of (corporate) events,

fixed installations and custom projects.

Our headquarters are in Aartselaar (near Antwerp)

and we have a commercial office in Brussels, both

located centrally in Belgium. This allows us to easily

service customers throughout Europe and the rest

of the world.

With more than 25 years of experience and +1600

projects each year, our 30 motivated employees

demonstrate their passion for AV every day.

Blue Moon has been VCA* certified since 2014.

In November 2019 several prominent EU politicians

gathered at the European People’s Party congress

in Zagreb.

Blue Moon was responsible for the full technical

support of this event.

The custom-made, 50 meter wide and 14 meter

high, cross-shaped video screen was the

eye-catcher of this production and ensured a very

diverse and dynamic show.

The annual Global Sustainable Technology &

Innovation Conference is a three-day meeting

aimed at accelerating the transition to a wide-

scale deployment of market-ready technological

solutions.

Together with Acerio & Zanzibar we designed the

concept from scratch. This way we were able to

perfectly match the desired look & feel with the

required technology.

His Majesty King Filip attended the presentation

on the first urban medical drone flight between

the Sint-Augustinus Hospital and the Antwerp

University Hospital. This medical drone is going

to be used for the transport of laboratory samples

and pharmacy preparations between hospitals.

Blue Moon provided the audiovisual and technical

support of the entire presentation.

We provided the complete AV support for the

‘Greenhouse Garden’ themed wedding of Suzanne

& Philippe. Combining creativity with functionality

was the main goal of this assignment.

Together with our partners we transformed the

beautiful tree nursery Solitair into an exclusive

wedding venue. From hidden audiospeakers over

subtle lighting to a sparkling bride-and-groom

entry, we covered all their wishes and left nothing

to chance.

In October 2019 the very first Vivium Digital Awards

were presented at Docks Dome in Brussels.

Our project managers designed the complete setup

for the main plenary room and the networking

area. Thanks to good communication, preparation

and multiple dry-runs & rehearsals, our event

director guaranteed a perfect flow of this award

show.

In January 2020 House of Weddings, the quality

label in the Belgian wedding market, organized

their New Year’s event, culminating in the annual

House Of Weddings awards.

These awards are given to wedding and event

professionals who earned the Quality Label thanks

to their extraordinary talent and proven reliability.

The feedback from married couples is one of the

most important value meters on their platform.

KICK OFF 2020HOUSE OF WEDDINGS


Together with FÆK and Focus Projects we helped

New Balls Please transforming the Marco Polo

room of BluePoint Venues into a magnificent live

cooking show for the New Year’s Event of AZ Klina.

Various PTZ cameras beautifully visualized the

show and by thinking out of the box, the unusual

room layout also provided real added value.

Quartier Papier, the beautiful new event space near

Brussels, asked our help in designing and installing

their new AV installations.

Therefore our Fixed Install team provided the

venue with the latest and newest state-of-the-art

AV technology. From easy to operate light switches

to complex audio routing and from discrete

speakers to stunning LED screens.

Zoo Planckendael has opened a new residence for

bonobos. The thirteen great apes now have five

times more space in the zoo. The enclosure has

seven locations from which the animals can

choose, one outer island and three termite

mounds. In the meantime, the visitors take on the

role of the adventurous scientist to study the

bonobos in their habitat.

Our Fixed Install team took care of all audio facilities

in Expedition Bonobo, keeping in mind the ease of

use while preserving a discreet look.

In the summer of 2019 we completely renewed

and modernized the audiovisual equipment of the

Hotel Ter Elst auditorium.

We installed an 8000 lumen laser projector with an

electric roll-down screen, several audio speakers

and professional LED stagelights. The entire

auditorium is controlled from a single touch

screen with pre-programmed settings on a

custom user interface. The updated auditorium can

accommodate 400 people who can now enjoy the

best video and sound quality in a very comfortable

setting.

Zoo Antwerpen asked us to design and install

a digital signage screen for their entrance.

Our Fixed Install team used 9 outdoor and high

brightness P4 LED panels to create a large video

banner that fits nicely under the existing entrance

canopy.

The content is managed via a BrightSign player

and controlled through Widget Designer from

Coolux. The software runs on a touchscreen based

control system so it can easily be modified.

If you can imagine it, we can build it …

We designed a custom underwater microphone

so the divers can be clearly understood by the

visitors of the aquarium of Zoo Antwerpen.

Therefore we engineered and 3D printed the

microphone cover in-house so it fits a standard

diving mask. Our team also adjusted and

reprogrammed the existing sound system in the

aquarium.

The new bonobo residence in Zoo Planckendael is

based on an original research camp in the heart of

the Congolese jungle. Via an adventurous hiking

trail you will reach a tent full of research equipment,

where you can experience the real field work.

Therefore we manufactured a retro communication

radio with custom-made content. All knobs, sliders

and screens can be manipulated by the visitors.

We were asked to find an easy solution to control

all the AV equipment in various meeting rooms.

Our well-considered and custom-made control

system is the perfect answer to this challenge. We

can design and program this controller according

to the peculiarities of the venue and/or the wishes

of the client.

We endeavor to integrate economic, social and

environmental aspects into our company policy.

This is a continuous process that, in addition to a

clear vision, also requires the active cooperation of

both managers and employees.

Blue Moon seeks to minimize the impact of its

activities on the environment, public health,

climate and natural resources. This is actively

addressed in waste, transport and energy policy.

As part of the VCA* certification, our environmental

care system has also been audited by an external

inspection agency.


Our fleet only consists of recent euro 5 and

euro 6 diesel vehicles as well as electric vans.

With our own solar panels, we generate

19.000 kWh/year of green electricity and all

our outdoor and office lighting has been

replaced by LEDs.

Blue Moon supports various charities, sports

clubs and social initiatives. One of them is vzw

BIJS that provides a warm home for children

with a mental and/or physical disability.

Blue Moon helps them with AV equipment

at their various fundraising events.

We are the proud godfathers of a meerkat

in the Antwerp Zoo and by doing so we are

contributing to the research on international

breeding programs for endangered species

with the renowned Antwerp Zoo Center for

Research and Conservation.

AV MANAGER

Blue Moon has developed the Blue Moon AV

Manager for its customers, the main purpose of

which is to make communication about AV projects

more efficient and transparant.

Without direct intervention of Blue Moon, the end

user can:

• request new quotes

• consult the latest versions of existing quotes

• confirm or cancel projects

• view the comfirmed planning

• provide feedback on completed projects

• order AV consumables online

• consult and download the order forms

The AV Manager is available on every browser or via

our mobile app on “Google Play” or the “Apple App

Store”.

Blue Moon wants to be “employer of choice” within

the AV sector. We work in an open corporate culture

Everyone within Blue Moon receives

continuous training via our own Blue Moon

Academy or external partners. All employees

have a VCA certificate and all our

technicians are licensed to operate a cherry

picker. Our project managers are BARCO or

Q-SYS certified specialists.

Since 2014, Blue Moon is one of only two

companies in the Belgian audiovisual

sector that has succeeded in obtaining the

VCA* certificate. VCA (SCC) is a certification

process in which service companies are

tested for their safety, health and

environment management system.

At least 4 times a year we hold a toolbox

meeting. In these short and informal get-

togethers coordinated by our internal

prevention advisor, we discuss work-related

safety, health & environmental topics and by

doing so we promote our company’s safety

culture.
