Duties of Children towardsDeceased Parents

Once a question was asked to a great Imam regarding theDuties of Children towards deceased Parents... Over whichhe stated the following points:

1. The first and foremost duty of the children after the deathof a parent is that they should immediately arrange andtake part in Ghusl (Wash), Salat al-Janaza (Funeral Prayer)and Burial which should be done in accordance with theSunnah of the Holy Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Sallam, and hope for them to receive the Mercy of Almighty Allah.

2. They should always make Dua and Istighfar for them atall times and never be unconscious about it.

3. They should give out Sadaqah and Khayrat (Charity) andalways send the rewards of good deeds (Aa'mal-e-Sawleh) tothem in accordance to their personal capacity. Actually, forany good deed performed, the Sawab should be forwardedto them and all deceased Muslims and this will not affectthe benefits one will receive, in any way. On the contrary, theSawab of such acts will be beneficial to himself, his parentsand all the deceased of the Ummah.

4. If the parents left behind any kind of debts or credits itshould be paid in full immediately from one's personalwealth, which should be regarded as blessings of thisDuniya and Aakhirah. If you cannot afford to pay, assistance should be taken from the family, close friends orcharitable Muslims.

5. If he has not performed Hajj, firstly, try to perform hisHajj-e-Badal for him personally, or send someone as arepresentative to do so. If he has any previous Zakah to bepaid, do so immediately. If he has any Qada of Salat orRoza (Fasting) perform the Kaffarah for him. The childrenshould, in all aspects, try their best to execute the duties oftheir parents which were left undone.

6. Whatever desires and wishes were made by the parentshould be carried out even though it may displease you andthe Shariah does not compel you to. For example, if he hasmade a Wasiyyat (Wish) to give half of his wealth orbelongings to a dear friend, non-inheritor or total outsider, even though in accordance

to the Law of the Shariah, one-third of the wealth orbelongings cannot be given to anyone without the consent ofthe heirs, it is best for the heirs to execute the Wasiyyat andpriority to the wishes and happiness of the deceased.

7. If he has taken an oath, carry it out after his death. If theparents had sworn an oath that their child must not do acertain thing or not meet with a certain person or must notgo to a certain place, it must not be discarded after thedeath, saying :"Well, they are not alive so I can do certainthings." Wrong! One should abide by it as he did while theywere alive, as long as it does not conflict with the Shariah.

8. Visit their graves when ever possible, preferably Fridayand recite from the Holy Quran preferably Surah Yaseen andpass the Thawab of recitation to them. While travelling, never pass their graves without greeting and performingFatiha.9. As long as you live, be kind to their relatives.

10. Maintain friendship and respect for all their relatives.

11. Never, at any time, insult anyone's parents, so that theymay not insult yours.

12. The most difficult duty is never to commit any sin andinflict harm to them in their graves. All deeds of the childrenare taken to their parents in the grave. On seeing the gooddeeds they are very pleased and their faces glitter withhappiness. On the contrary, if they see the bad deeds orsins, they become very sad.

Allah's Miraclesin the Holy Qur'an

Truly it (the Qur'an) is revelation sent down by the Lord ofall the worlds. (Qur'an, 26:192)

The perfection of the literary language of the Qur'an, theincomparable features of its style and the superior wisdomcontained within it are some of the definitive proofs that itrepresents the word of our Lord.

THE END OF

THE UNIVERSE

AND THE BIG

CRUNCH

The creation of the universe began with a huge explosion.

From this point, the universe has been expanding ever since.

Scientists say that when the mass of the universe has

reached a sufficient level, this expansion will come to an end

because of gravity, causing the universe to collapse in on

itself.

It is also believed that the contracting universe will end in a

fierce heat and contraction known as the "Big Crunch."

This would lead to the end of all forms of life as we know

them. Renata Kallosh and Andrei Linde, professors of

physics from Stanford University, made the following

statements on the subject:

The universe may be doomed to collapse and disappear.

Everything we see now, and at a much larger distance that

we cannot see, will collapse into a point smaller than a

proton. Locally, it will be the same as if you were inside a

black hole... We have found that some of the best attempts

to describe dark energy predict that it will gradually become

negative, which will cause the universe to become unstable,

then collapse... Physicists have known that dark energy

could become negative and the universe could collapse

sometime in the very distant future... but now we see that

we might be, not in the beginning, but in the middle of the

life cycle of our universe.

This is how this scientific hypothesis of the Big Crunch is

indicated in the Qur'an:

That Day We will fold up heaven like folding up the pages of

a book. As We originated the first creation so We will

regenerate it. It is a promise binding on Us. That is what

We will do. (Qur'an, 21:104)

In another verse, this state of the heavens is described thus:

They do not measure Allah with His true measure. The

whole Earth will be a mere handful for Him on the Day of

Resurrection the heavens folded up in His right hand. Glory

be to Him! He is exalted above the partners they ascribe!

(Qur'an, 39:67)

According to the Big Crunch theory, the universe will begin

to collapse slowly and will then increasingly pick up speed.

At the end of the process the universe will have infinite

density and be infinitely hot and small. This scientific theory

runs parallel to the Qur'anic explanation of this particular

scientific concept. (Allah knows best)

Supreme Qualities & Miracles of thebest of creation - prophet MuhammadSallal laho alaihe wassallam.

1. The Holy Qur'an; the final and absolute book of divineguidance. Through it, Allah revealed to His BelovedMessenger numerous scientific proofs and evidences 1400years ago which science is just beginning to comprehendtoday. Its eloquence and complete accuracy have remainedunchallengeable to this day.

“Say: If mankind and the jinns were together to produce thelike of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they helped one another.” [Qur'an 17:88]

2. Mi'raj; the Beloved Messenger's ascension to the Heavensaccompanied by Angel Jibra'il.

The Messenger of Allah said, “..al-Buraq, a white animal, smaller than a mule and bigger than a donkey was broughtto me, and I set out with Gabriel. When I reached thenearest Heaven, Gabriel said to the gate-keeper of Heaven,'Open the gate'...” [Bukhari]

3. Splitting of the moon: challenged to prove hisProphethood by the unbelieving Quraysh, the BelovedMessenger of Allah split the moon into two halves, and thepieces were clearly separated from each other. Despite this, the kuffaar turned away in ignorance and continued tofollow their desires in non-belief.

Narrated Sayyidina Anas b. Malik: "The people ofMakkahasked the Messenger of Allah to show them amiracle; he therefore split the moon, the two pieces wereseen on the opposite sides of Mount Hira." [Bukhari]

“The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two].But if they see a Sign, they turn away, and say, 'This is (but)transient magic.'" [Qur'an 54:1-2]

4. Prophecy of the Roman Empire's victory over the Persiansafter facing defeat.

"The Romans have been defeated. In the nearest land, andthey, after their defeat, will be victorious." [Qur'an 30:2-3]

5. The blessed saliva of the Beloved Messenger, may Allah'speace and blessings be upon him, worked as a miraculouscure for ailments.

“...The Prophet was told that Ali was suffering fromeye-trouble, so he applied saliva to Ali's eyes and invokedAllah to cure him. He at once got cured as if he had noailment.” [Bukhari]

6. The Beloved Messenger of Allah never yawned during hisentire lifetime.

It is related that the Beloved Messenger himself said, “NoProphet has ever yawned.” [Imam ibn Hajar, Fath al-Bari]

7. The Messenger of Allah had no visible shadow, even on abright sunny day.

Sayyidina Abdullah ibn Abbas, the cousin of the BelovedProphet, states, "The Messenger of Allah had no shadow, not while standing in the sun, but the brilliance of his light(noor) surpassed the rays of the sun; nor while sitting beforea burning light, but his luminous light excelled the lustre ofthe light." [Imam ibn al-Jawzi's Kitabul-Wafa]

Imam Jalaluddin Suyuti narrates, "This is also a uniquefeature of the Prophet that his shadow did not touch theground, because he was light (noor), and when he used towalk in the sunshine his shadow could not be seen."[Khasaa'is al-Kubra]

8. Allah encouraged him before the Battle of Badr with adream of a small kuffaar army.

“(And remember) when Allah showed them to you as few inyour dream; if He had shown them to you as many, youwould surely have been discouraged…” [Qur'an 8:44]

Hafiz ibn Kathir relates in his Tafsir: Mujahid said, "In adream, Allah showed the Prophet the enemy as few. TheProphet conveyed this news to his Companions and theirresolve strengthened.'' This demonstrates Allah'scompassion towards the believers. Allah made them see fewdisbelievers in their eyes, so that they would be encouragedand feel eager to meet them.

9. Victory of the Battle of Badr; 313 Muslim soldierstriumphed against approximately a thousand non-Muslimsoldiers and their cavalry. The Angels were present in thisbattle too, aiding the believers with their unseen forces.

“There has already been for you a Sign in the two armiesthat met (in combat): One was fighting in the cause of Allah, the other resisting Allah; these saw with their own eyes twicetheir number. But Allah does support with His aid whom He

Tafsir ibn Kathir reports on this verse that Mujahid said,

"Allah sent down the rain on the believers before slumber

overtook them, and the rain settled the dust, made the

ground firmer, made them feel at ease and their feet firmer.''

And Ibn Ishaq narrated from Yazid bin Ruwman that

Sayyidina Urwa bin Az-Zubayr said, "Allah sent rain down

from the sky on a sandy valley. That rain made the area

where the Messenger of Allah and his Companions camped

firmer so that it did not hinder their movement. Meanwhile,

the part that the Quraysh were camping on became difficult

to move in.''

12. As a baby in the cradle, the Beloved Prophet would move

the moon with his blessed finger and would converse with it.

The Prophet's uncle, Sayyidina Abbas, said, “O Messenger

of Allah, what made me enter into your religion was my

witnessing a sign of your Prophethood. I saw you in your

cradle talking tenderly to the moon and pointing at it with

your finger. It moved across the sky to wherever you

pointed.” The Beloved Messenger replied, “I was talking to

it, and it talked to me, which distracted me from crying. I

could hear the sound of its prostration under the Throne.”

[Imam al-Qastalani's Mawahib al Ladunya; Imam

Suyuti's Khasa'is al-Kubra]

pleases. In this is a warning for such as have eyes to see.”

[Qur'an 3:13]

“[Remember] when you asked help of your Lord, and He

answered you, 'Indeed, I will reinforce you with a thousand

from the angels, following one another.'” [Qur'an 8:9]

10. There was once a drought in Madinah, and the people

requested the Messenger of Allah to pray for rain. His

prayer was answered so fast that it began to rain before he

descended the pulpit. [Tafsir ibn Kathir]

Sayyidina Anas b. Malik says in a narration: "The Prophet

raised his hands and said: 'O Allah, make it rain', thrice.

I swear by Allah, there were no clouds in the sky, not even a

single one. Then suddenly, a thick heavy cloud covered us,

and it rained, and we never saw the sky for a week…"

[Bukhari]

11. Rainfall on the eve of the battle of Badr, which resolved

the issue of scarce water supplies for drinking and

purification, and firmed the ground for the Muslim camp.

“And He caused rain to descend on you from heaven...”

[Qur'an 8:11]

13. He increased blessing in food to the extent that a pieceof bread once fed seventy to eighty Companions to their fill.

Sayyidina Anas b. Malik narrates: Abu Talha said, "O Umm

Sulaym, here comes the Messenger of Allah along with the

people and we do not have enough (food) to feed them.''

She said, "Allah and His Messenger know better.'' Abu

Talhah went out (to receive him) until he met Messenger of

Allah, and he came forward along with him until they both

arrived. Then the Messenger of Allah said, "O Umm

Sulaym, bring forth what you have with you.'' So she

brought the bread. The Messenger of Allah commanded

that the bread be broken into small pieces and after Umm

Sulaym had squeezed clarified butter out of a butter

container and made it just like soup. Messenger of Allah

recited over it what Allah wished him to recite. He then said,

"Allow ten guests to come in.'' They ate until they had their

fill. They then went out. He (Messenger of Allah) again said,

"Allow ten (more to come in)'', and he (the host) ushered

them in. They ate to their fill. Then they went out. He again

said, "Allow ten (more),'' until all the people ate to their fill.

They were seventy or eighty persons." [Bukhari; Muslim]
