In the village of Sadaasukhi, people and animals lived together happily. Thepeople lived on the ground, and the birds lived wherever they pleased. But themonkeys were always on the trees.

When the chicken pecked at worms, the bugs crawled about and the dogbarked, the monkeys ate leaves, sitting up in the trees.

While the content cats of Sadaasukhi lazily watched the mice growing fatterand fatter, the monkeys watched them both from the trees.

But one day the monkeys were no longer on the trees. Rannoo was the first tonotice. The village felt strange without them.

Rannoos mother was wise and knew a lot about animals. The monkeys musthave gone to the jungle, she told him. You must throw a party, and invite allthe animals of the forest. The monkeys love a party. Theyll come right backwhen they hear about it!
