Wreaking Havoc in Heaven!Monkey King caused a lot of trouble for the Jade Emperor in heaven.

– He ate all of the sacred peaches and magical sweet buns and drank the emperor’s favorite potion!

The emperor was very mad but he could not defeat Monkey King. So he called upon the great Buddha for help.

Don’t mess with Buddha!• Buddha tricked Monkey King by telling him he would be free if

he could jump out of Buddha’s hand.• Monkey thought it would be easy and jumped to the top of the

sky where he found 5 pillars. • He signed his name on the pillars and left his mark.• When he came back down, Monkey King realized the pillars

were actually Buddha’s fingers. • Buddha turned his fingers

into 5 Finger Mountain and trapped Monkey King under the mountain for 500 years until someone would free him.

Journey to the West

• Tang Monk picked up more disciples to accompany them on their journey, including:– a pig– a sand monster– the fastest horse in the world

All of the disciples are making up for their earlier misdeeds by serving Tang Monk and protecting him on his journey.

After traveling for 14 years and over 100,000 miles the friends accomplished their mission. It was a hard journey, but Buddha rewards them immortal life and happiness!
