Notes 1. For systems requiring confirmation of Hold-up Alarms reference should be made to section 5.7 of the

Custodian Administrative and Operational Booklet for additional channel and alarm response requirements.

2. To ensure satisfactory commissioning the zones as indicated in the table above must be tested to the ARC in accordance with the commissioning procedure of section 4.2 of the Custodian Administrative and Operational Booklet.

3. 4. Response plans attached to individual alarm signals are often interlinked to provide an alternative ARC

response in the event of the receipt of multiple signals and for this reason deviation from standard ARC default response plans is not recommended and could lead to an unwanted response for which the ARC cannot accept liability.

5. Special attention should be made to ‘path failure’ channels that are pre-assigned by monitoring service

providers to ensure these are not programmed for alternative alarm signals. Our monitoring platform will be configured as a default to expect ‘path failure’ alarms on these pre-designated channels and assignment of these channels to other alarm signals may lead to an incorrect alarm response.

6. Where additional channels 9, 10, 11 & 12 are employed, it is the alarm company responsibility to ensure

these channel are tested to the ARC at commissioning and the correct response plan has been assigned to each channel used.

7. Grade 4 systems will have an event code applied with a 2 minute filter period rather than the standard 1

hour filter period normally applied to general system faults (622SF4).

8. Grade 4 systems will have an actionable event code applied with a 2 minute filter period rather than the report notification by email normally applied to single path signal failures, e.g. PSTN fail (522BT4). GPRS fail (522GP4) and IP fail (522IP4).

9. DualCom GPRS & IP Variant: It is recommended whilst the system is ‘on test’ the path test failure button

is enabled to test all paths to the ARC. The will provide the following test results at the ARC: PT Alarm 20 – Timer Test * test GPRS path PT Alarm 20 – Timer Test * test PSTN path

If IP is enabled an additional line should be seen with the IP timer test. This is to confirm all paths are enabled and connected to the ARC. If the transmitter is located on a white board the unit does not support polling on PSTN. If the transmitter is located on a red board the unit does support polling on PSTN but may need to be enabled by CSL.

10. Alarm Companies are required to comply with the CSL DualCom Terms and Conditions, see:
