For this, all students must be changed into the correct PE uniform. After sports, all Year 5 and 6 students will be allowed to go home in their PE uniform. Mark Insley ([email protected]) 2020 ICAS Assessments for Year 5 - 6 Students Year 5-6 children have the opportunity to participate in the 2020 International Competitions and Assessment for Schools (ICAS). The assessments are suitable for students wishing to extend themselves academically and take up the personal challenge of competing in an international assessment. These assessments are designed to allow students to apply their learning without the need for prior revision while targeting higher-order thinking and problem-solving skills. In 2020 we are offering English, Mathematics and Science Assessments. A letter with further information, including payment options ($18.50 each assessment), will be sent home next week. On a Friday afternoon, when the weather permits, the Senior School goes outside for their sport rotation. For this, all students must be changed into the correct PE uniform. After sports, all Year 5 and 6 students will be allowed to go home in their PE uniform. Teachers will remind the students not to leave behind any of their normal school uniform. Writing Books

On Friday your child's writing book will be coming home. This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to share their writing with you. Please enjoy reading the stories over the weekend and return the book back to class for writing to continue on Monday.

Class and Individual Photos

PhotoLife - All class and individual photos will be taken on Wednesday. This year orders will be done online. If you require a sibling form please collect one from the office. Please ensure your child is wearing the correct uniform. Contact [email protected] for any queries.

Cross Country Training Years 4-6 Cross country training will be held during the next 2 weeks depending on weather conditions. The days and times are organised by year level teams depending on what suits their timetable. Please send your child to school with fitness gear each day including sports shoes. Book Week We are very excited for our upcoming Book Week celebrations!

Monday - author Heather Haylock is visiting Year 1-3

Tuesday - author Melinda Szymanik is visiting Year 4-6

Wednesday - Read to a Friend Day—bring your teddy bear or soft toy to read to!

Friday - Book Character Dress-up day! Parade and prizes for best costume up for grabs!

Guess the Character competition—check out the library window—guess who and enter the lucky draw to win a prize!

Have you decided on your costume for the Book Character Dress-up Day? Here are some websites to check out for inspiration. Remember you don’t have to spend lots of money, sometimes all you need is a prop or two! It also helps to photocopy the cover of your book to attach to your costume to show who you are.

Book Fair The Scholastic Book Fair will be open in the library during Book Week. There will be loads of great children’s books available for sale as great prices. Every purchase goes into a lucky prize draw! EFTPOS is available and all sales provide literacy and learning resources for the school.
