FORMWORK
Moladi formwork
• Emphasis on quality and Efficiency.
• Light weight mould.
• Easy transportation.
• No plastering, no beam filling and no skilled labour needed.
![Page 7: Moladi Cast Housing](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022081507/5525fa38550346126f8b4b50/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
MORTAR MIX
Mixing and placing of mortar
• Custom mix design.
• Fast curing aerated
mortar.
• Water proof.
• No need to vibrate.
![Page 8: Moladi Cast Housing](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022081507/5525fa38550346126f8b4b50/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
REINFORCING
Reinforcements used in Moladi buildings
• Designed by a certified
engineer.
• Depends on the
requirements, soil conditions
,etc.
• Placing of reinforcement
• Electrical and water piping is
located onto the formwork
and cast in situ.

PROCESS
Step 1
• Molad I formwork is delivered to the site.
• Start the erection of Moladi.
• Panels assembled by general labourers .
![Page 10: Moladi Cast Housing](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022081507/5525fa38550346126f8b4b50/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
Erection of Moladi Formwork
![Page 11: Moladi Cast Housing](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022081507/5525fa38550346126f8b4b50/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
Step 2
• Internal panels are erected.
• Window frames and block-outs are placed in positions.
• Mesh and reinforcing details are placed.
• External panel are then erected.
![Page 12: Moladi Cast Housing](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022081507/5525fa38550346126f8b4b50/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
Positioning the formwork
![Page 13: Moladi Cast Housing](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022081507/5525fa38550346126f8b4b50/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
Completion of formwork
Step 3
• Door frames and block-out are positioned
• Erection of moladi completed.
![Page 14: Moladi Cast Housing](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022081507/5525fa38550346126f8b4b50/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
Pouring of mortar
Step 4• Filling of the wall cavity with 3.4m3 of an aerated mortar
mixture.The pouring is completed.
![Page 15: Moladi Cast Housing](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022081507/5525fa38550346126f8b4b50/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
THE NEXT DAY……..
Step 1
• Moladi formwork is removed.
• Panel moved and immediately re-erected on the next foundation.
• Removing of moladi completed.
Finished.
![Page 16: Moladi Cast Housing](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022081507/5525fa38550346126f8b4b50/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
Removal of moladi formwark
![Page 17: Moladi Cast Housing](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022081507/5525fa38550346126f8b4b50/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
Painting the surface
Step 2• Panting the surface with cementatious water based
paint.• Oil or water based paint can also be used at a later stage.
![Page 18: Moladi Cast Housing](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022081507/5525fa38550346126f8b4b50/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
Finally the roof is constructed
Step 3• The walls are 1.5 to 2.0 mPa strong with an ultimate
strength of 10 to 20 mPa, achieved in 28 days, depending on the mix design of the mortar (C:W Ratio) .
• Engineer certified roof is constructed
![Page 19: Moladi Cast Housing](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022081507/5525fa38550346126f8b4b50/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
Finished structure
Step 4• Final finishing's, such as plumbing and electrical fittings,
are completed• The structure is now ready for occupation
![Page 20: Moladi Cast Housing](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022081507/5525fa38550346126f8b4b50/html5/thumbnails/20.jpg)
LABOUR
• Unskilled labour.
• Comprehensive training programme.
• Engineer design.
• Optimized and sequential process .
Positioning of Molad i formwork
![Page 21: Moladi Cast Housing](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022081507/5525fa38550346126f8b4b50/html5/thumbnails/21.jpg)
ADVANTAGES
• Reduction in the cost of construction ..
• not dependent on skilled labour..
• construction of low-cost and affordable houses, …
• an affordable technique to effectively build durable, earthquake, cyclone resistant shelter.
• creates jobs within unskilled communities.
• reduces pollution and environmental destruction.
![Page 22: Moladi Cast Housing](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022081507/5525fa38550346126f8b4b50/html5/thumbnails/22.jpg)
TRADITIONAL BRICK OR BLOCK CONSTRUCTION• Labour intensive• Compressive capacity only• Skilled labour• Mortar shrinkage• Thermal expansion and contraction• Levelling• Erratic supplies = erratic delivery• Waste• Rework• Slow delivery• Inconsistent quality
![Page 23: Moladi Cast Housing](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022081507/5525fa38550346126f8b4b50/html5/thumbnails/23.jpg)
TESTS CONDUCTED
Water penetration test
• The standard of this test method is based on the city of Cape Town’s rainfall of 1,000-mm per annum, a wind speed of 30 meters per second and is conducted over a 24-hour period.
• The test has certified the walls are waterproof.
![Page 24: Moladi Cast Housing](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022081507/5525fa38550346126f8b4b50/html5/thumbnails/24.jpg)
Soft body impact test• Soft body impact test is
carried out by slamming a 30 kg bag, by means of a pendulum, against the surface of the wall.
• Height of swing at 900 mm above the point of impact. To meet the safety criteria, the bag is released from a height of 1800 mm above the point of impact.Any sign of cracking, surface damage or collapse is noted. There was no damage.
![Page 25: Moladi Cast Housing](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022081507/5525fa38550346126f8b4b50/html5/thumbnails/25.jpg)
Chisel impact test
• Chisel impact test is carried out with two consecutive strikes of a chisel, which is released from a height of 375 mm above the floor level. Just above the point of impact a slight indentation of less than 3 mm was visible.
![Page 26: Moladi Cast Housing](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022081507/5525fa38550346126f8b4b50/html5/thumbnails/26.jpg)
CONCLUSION• Holistic building technology • Fast track, cost effective, transferable construction
technology• A solution in housing the masses of the world• Construction of low-cost and affordable houses, schools,
clinics and other structures• It’s a solution for instant housing for the rehabilitation of
displaced peoples ,from natural disaster or dam construction ,etc.
