Making the Blocks Place one slate and one turquoise B

triangle right sides together, aligning the slightly longer bottom edges. Sew the triangles together along the bottom edge and press the seam open. Make 144 slate/turquoise and 96 slate/peach B triangle pairs.

Layout 12 slate/turquoise B triangle pairs, 2 slate B triangles, 2 turquoise

C triangles, 2 A and 2 AR triangles, and 1 Mountain Dream D diamond as shown. Join each set of three triangle pairs together along adjacent edges.

Join the upper left and lower right triangle units to each adjacent edge of the D diamond.

Join the AR triangles to the outer edge of the triangle units joined to the D diamond. Join the C and B triangles to the upper right and lower left triangle units.

Join the A triangles to the outer edges of the upper right/lower left units, then sew the units to the D diamond to complete the block.

Arrange 6 slate/peach triangle units, one peach E and ER triangle, one slate B triangle, one A and AR triangle, and one Moss Floral D half-diamond as shown. Join the triangle units along adjacent edges. Sew the E and B triangles to one triangle unit. Sew the

AR triangle to the outer edge of the E/B triangle unit. Sew the remaining ER and A triangles to the adjacent edges of the remaining joined triangle pairs. Sew the unit to the adjacent edge of the D half-diamond. Sew the E/B/AR unit to the opposite edge of the D half-diamond. Make two upper and two lower Half-Diamond Blocks.

Assembly Referring to the quilt photo,

arrange the blocks and half blocks into 5 vertical rows. Note that rows 1, 3, and 5 each use four slate/turquoise blocks. Rows 2 and 4 each use three slate/peach blocks and two slate/peach half-blocks.

Join the blocks in each row together along adjacent edges. Sew the rows together.

MOJAVE QUILT PATTERN

Finishing Remove the selvages, then cut the

backing fabric into two equal lengths. Sew the two pieces together along one long edge, using a 1/2" seam allowance. Press the seam open.

Layer the quilt back, batting and quilt top. Quilt as desired. Stitch around the outer edge of the quilt, a scant 1/4" from the edge of the quilt top. Use your favorite method to bind the quilt.
