The Ultra Measure Master calculator sim-plifies conversions between Metric andImperial weights and measures. The UltraMeasure Master can convert the followingtypes of dimensions:

• Linear

• Area

• Volume

• Weight

• Temperature

• Linear Velocity

• Volumetric Velocity (Flow Rates)

• Pressure

• Bending Moment

In addition to the above, the Ultra MeasureMaster performs dimensional calculationswith ease!

Setting Fractional Modes

Standard ModeIn Standard Mode, the fractional result isreduced to its lowest common denominator(i.e., 8/16 reduces to 1/2).

Constant ModeIn Constant Mode, fractional results remainin the defined accuracy level (e.g., 1/2 willbe shown as 8/16). Entries of higher accu-racy values will temporarily override thefixed fraction setting (see PreferenceSettings section for instructions).

USING EXPONENTIAL NOTATION

Your calculator is defaulted to have expo-nential notation set to “on.” Therefore, anyinteger value exceeding seven digits willdisplay in exponential format. When expo-nential notation is off, the calculatoradjusts dimensioned values to a higherunit when the display limit is exceeded(known as Auto-Ranging); e.g.,“20,000,000 mm” exceeds the seven-digitdisplay, so “20,000 m” is displayed. Thisauto-ranging also applies to other dimen-sional units, such as Inches to Feet, Feetto Yards, etc.

To enter an exponential value, enter themain value, press Ç /, then enter theexponential power.

Entering Exponents

Enter 2.34 x 10-8 into the calculator.

BASIC MATH OPERATIONS

Your calculator uses standard chaininglogic which simply means that you enteryour first value, the operator (+, –, x,÷), the second value and then the equalskey (=).

A. 3 + 2 = 5.B. 3 – 2 = 1.C. 3 x 2 = 6.D. 3 ÷ 2 = 1.5

This feature also makes the calculator sim-ple to use for dimensional math.

Adding or Subtracting Dimensions

Examples:

Using Memory Storage Keys (M0 - M9)

In addition to the standard cumulativeMemory (as previously described), yourcalculator has ten independent StorageRegisters – M0 through M9 – that can beused to permanently store single, noncu-mulative values. The following exampleshows the use of M0 (ß 0). To use M1through M9, replace the presses of the 0key with presses of the correspondingnumber key (1 through 9).

You can replace a value in one of theseMemory registers by storing a new value inplace of the stored value.
