IDG Mobile Trender 2013 Mobility in the Nordics
The Third Platform for Industry Growth The IT industry is in the midst of a
massive structural shift - from the PC and client/server-based “2nd Platform” of technology growth and innovation, to the "3rd Platform" – built on a foundation of Big Data, Cloud, Mobile and Social technologies.
The next 20 years of innovation and growth - in the IT industry and in virtually every other industry - will be based on this platform, as 100,000s to millions of high-value, industry-transforming solutions will be built.
The 3rd Platform will drive nearly 100% of the IT industry's growth from 2014 through 2020, with an unprecedented portion of that growth coming from increasingly strategic classes of customers - in emerging markets, in small businesses and startups, in service provider organizations and in line-of-business roles.
