Introducing BusWise™ Technologies featuring Mobileye® Collision Avoidance Technologies
Thomas Built Buses has teamed up with Mobileye Aftermarket, a division
of Mobileye N.V., the global leader in the development of vision and data
analysis for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and autonomous driving,
and Pana-Pacific, to offer the Mobileye Aftermarket collision avoidance
system as a factory-installed option for the popular Saf-T-Liner® C2 as
part of its BusWise™ suite of technologies.
Mobileye technologies employ an alert system to give a driver the opportunity to avoid a collision or mitigate
its severity before an incident happens. Collision avoidance systems like Mobileye have been proven to reduce
collisions and the injuries and fatalities involved. Thomas Built Buses is committed to enhancing the safety of
students and drivers on its buses.
Mobileye features the following alerts

Introducing BusWise™ Technologies featuring MeritorWABCO SmartTrac™ Electronic Stability Control
Thomas Built Buses has teamed up with Meritor WABCO to offer new factory-installed SmartTrac™ electronic
stability control (ESC) on its Saf-T-Liner® C2 school buses as an option in its BusWise™ Technologies platform.
SmartTrac ESC is a vehicle safety system that intervenes automatically when it senses instability that could
lead to rollover or loss of bus control. Electronic Stability Control (ESC) can assist the driver in reducing the
risk of vehicle instability while in a slippery curve or taking an evasive action.
SmartTrac ESC intervenes by comparing the vehicle’s actual movement to performance models using various
vehicle sensors. If the vehicle shows a tendency to leave the driver’s intended path or exceeds a critical
acceleration threshold, SmartTrac ESC helps the driver maintain control. The system applies the appropriate
brakes selectively and better aligns the vehicle with the driver’s intended path of travel.
The SmartTrac ESC system works with the Saf-T-Liner C2’s air disc and air drum brakes and supports a
driver in difficult road conditions. However, the driver maintains responsibility of safe driving practices in all
road conditions.
Electronic Stability Control systems,
like Meritor WABCO’s SmartTrac, are
important because they can help reduce
the risk for rollover, which is the most
dangerous type of bus accident and the
second-most predominant harmful event
for single school bus crashes, according
to NHSTA. Thomas Built Buses, through
BusWise™ Technologies is proud to offer
SmartTrac™ electronic stability control to
reduce the chances of rollover.

• High-resolution wide-angle cameras are installed
in the front, back, and on the left and right sides of
the school bus.
• Four cameras provide crisp, real-time video
images all the way around the bus to provide the
driver full visibility.
• Drivers can choose to view on a monitor all four
camera feeds at the same time or can toggle
among individual cameras for a better view of a
specific location.
• Automatic blending of camera images
• High resolution camera images displayed
• Easy-to-follow guidelines while backing up
• Multiple single camera view around vehicle
• Triggered single camera views around vehicle
• Toggled views for any single camera
• Production and post-production installation
Thomas Built Buses and MITO Corporation have announced a new Perimeter View™ 360 camera package
(PV360) as part of the Thomas Built Buses new BusWise™ suite of technologies. This new camera package will
be the first of its kind in the industry, and will be a factory-installed option available for all new orders of the
Saf-T-Liner® C2 starting on November 11, 2015.
The PV360 camera package is a state-of-the-art intelligent camera system, which provides a 360-degree
bird’s-eye view of the bus providing driver visibility on the danger zones surrounding the bus. This new
technology will provide drivers assurance and confidence while operating and maneuvering under tight
conditions. It will also help protect students who may be within range of the bus, but who are not immediately
visible to the driver under normal circumstances.

Features
Perimeter View ™ 360 Camera System
• Through a sensor on each wheel, the new TPMS
will monitor air pressure and temperature inside
the tire and wirelessly send real-time data on each
tire to a display within the bus.
• Unlike other TPMS systems, the Valor system will
check both air pressure and temperature.
• The system utilizes internally-installed sensors
that are safe, secure and extremely reliable.
• Each sensor is powered by a long-lasting battery.
• Increased fuel efficiency
• Extended tread life
• Reduced carbon emissions
• Decreased maintenance cost
• Reduced roadside downtime
• Added safety
• Enhanced vehicle handling
• Lessened damage to casings
Thomas Built Buses, along with Valor TPMS, who develops and manufactures tire pressure and temperature-
monitoring systems for the commercial truck, trailer, bus, recreational vehicle and mining equipment markets
and Pana-Pacific, have announced a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) as part of the new BusWise™
suite of technologies. This will be a factory-installed option available for all new orders of the Saf-T-Liner C2®
starting on November 11, 2015.
The Valor TPMS system will provide real-time data to the driver along with immediate warnings for high or
low pressures as well as air leakage and high temperatures. The data can also be available to fleet managers
24/7. This will allow fleet managers to analyze tire data and make more efficient fleet management and
maintenance decisions.
The single thing that makes Valor stands out against competitive products is the signal strength of its sensors.
Even in the toughest conditions, customers can always rely on Valor TPMS sensors to give real-time tire
pressure and temperature data.
