1. Feature Description, Integrity, Eligibility:

SITS# 32 CV

The feature is a one room prairie school on a concrete block foundation. This building was moved to this location for use as a museum in a Pioneer Village complex. The gable roof of the school is covered with ribbed metal sheeting. There is no chimney. The soffits are closed.

The siding on the school is vinyl with original wood finish on the windows. There are four double hung, three over one, windows on both side of the school with all glass intact. Half curtains hang on the bottom half with window shade that pull down from the top. There is ~n entry, reached from a concrete stoop with one step, with two smaller three over one windows to either side of the plywood door. The walls and ceiling in the building are all coverd with beadboard and at the lower third of the walls there is vertical beadboard wainscot. The floor is tongue and groove hardwood. Blackboards are on the southeast wall of the school room, either side of the door. This building has been titled the Library and has many museum artifacts, book and bound newspapers of the county. Light fixtures suggest electricity.
