Big Dream Church

This past Sunday we had our Big dream worship and potluck and I saw a church that is becoming a big dream church. A good number of people shared their dreams for the future and they were all good and positive. Sunset is an exciting place to be a part of and as we move forward into the

future we must remember that all we do was planned by God.

Ephesians 2:10 (ASV) 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God afore prepared that we should walk in them. Let us be diligent in prayer for God to move through us, filling us with His Holy Spirit to work in us

and through us to draw all people to Him.

Ephesians 3:14-21 (ASV) 14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that ye may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man; 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be strong to apprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge, that ye may be filled unto all the full-ness of God. 20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 21 unto him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus unto all

generations for ever and ever. Amen.

Bible Classes

As the summer is ending, our school year Bible Classes are resuming. Jill Crandall is in charge of the children's program, Charlie Weatherford and Chris Murray are working with the Youth till Bruce can be back on his feet and Brian McGonagill and Jimmy Neatherlin are working with the adults. The Auditorium class will be on its march through the Bible on Sunday mornings and the Multi-Purpose Adult Class is beginning a new study on “How to Study The Bible.” On Wednesday evenings, the adults will be meeting in the Multi-Purpose Room and continuing the How to Study Bible Class as well as we will continue with our stories of coming to faith. Ladies Wednesday morning Bible study is a seasonal class from September through the second week of May each year. The class will resume at 10:00 am on September 6th. Their first class will be organizational for the year and they will have a lesson on "worry and fear". The next week they will begin a study of First Corinthians. All ladies are invited to please make plans to join them in the Multi-Purpose Room at the back of the building. I hope each member of this church will prayerfully con-

sider making our Bible classes a priority for spiritual growth!!!

Announcements

Singing in the Clouds will be Saturday, September 16th this year at the Queens R.V. Park behind the restaurant. Bill Phillips will be cooking the brisket so bring a side dish or dessert to share. Din-ner will be at 5:30 pm with mountain top singing afterwards. Many of our members bring their R.V.’s and ATV’s and stay for the whole weekend and all are invited to do so. This is a special time of worshiping and bonding for our members so make plans now to attend. If you have any ques-

This Wednesday, August 16th we will conclude our Summer Series at the Beach Band Shell instead of the building. We will be having hamburgers and hotdogs. Please bring your lawn chairs and join us for this special picnic together.

Our annual Youth Rally will be Saturday, September 9th here at the building. Bruce is busy planning away but he needs YOUR HELP especially this year as he recovers. The following are areas of need: 1. We need volunteers to cook food. (Mexican Stack-Up). 2. We need people to volunteer to help buy the food as well or make cookies. 3. We need volunteers to serve the food. 4. Volunteers to setup and cleanup. 5. Volunteers to help run the games. Last year we had the biggest youth rally of the season and Bruce expects that to continue this year. We had over 100 kids not counting the adults, from all over the Pecos Valley. Attention Youth Group: The 55th annual Teenage Christian Conference in Denver City, Texas will be Saturday, August 19th. The theme this year is “Minds On Jesus”. After the rally there will be a special concert with the acapella group Durant of Nashville, Tennessee. If you would like to attend text Bruce at 575-706-8354.

The Sunset Parents Small Group will meet on Tuesday, August 29th at 6:00 pm. It will be a Mexican Potluck at the Massey’s. (1007 N Alameda) Kids are welcomed too! If you have a newborn, a teenager, or an in between kid this group is for you. Our goal is to grow closer to each other and closer to God.

All ladies are invited to a Come and Go Baby Shower in honor of Martha Huereque on Saturday, September 23rd at the home of Jim & Mary Hughes (1419 W Orchard Ln) from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Martha is expecting a boy. More details to follow.

New Bible Classes Start September 3

Do you feel called to help? Our new fall quarter for Bible class will begin on Sunday, September 3. I am always looking for Bible class teachers! Are you interested? Sometimes, the thought of teaching a class can seem intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. If you have ever been interested in teaching, but you aren’t sure, please come to me, and we can arrange for you to be an assistant in a class until you feel comfortable with taking a class on your own. Or maybe you want to recruit a friend so you

can take this task on together. If you feel called to help, we would love to have you!

I like to plan for a year in advance so that we are all prepared ahead of time. Here is what I have so far:
