A Resilient city is capable to live andgrow rapidly, innovating and adaptingits shape and patterns of life andorganization, in response to newchallenges. In particular during criticalor unforeseen situations or evenemergency.
Resilient is a city that organizethemselves to do so by activating theircapacity planning and government, involving the local community (citizensand their representatives, thebusiness sector and scientificresearch).
The need to handle emergenciesarising from the hydrogeologicaland climate change: flooding, heat waves or peaks of cold.
Milan will have a particularattention to the hardships facedby the elderly and children wholive in the suburbs.
Two challenges strongly intertwined:
the demand for quality in the urban suburbs can be answered in those interventions that are also helpful to
reduce the risks and effects of hydrogeological and climate change faced by the elderly and children who
live in the suburbs.
