Founded in 1997, Miko S.r.l. is the Italian

company that has launched Dinamica® by Miko,

the first ecological microfiber of high performance

for many sectors of application. Also quoted in

the Eurispes Report 2008 among the best Italian

Excellence, Miko is partner of Asahi Kasei, a

leading Japanese company, which provides the raw

base for the production of Dinamica®.

In 2015, Miko was acquired by Sage Automotive

Interior, one of the world’s leading providers of

automotive bodycloth with headquarters in South

Carolina (U.S.).

with the standard ISO 14001.

• Its production processes are certified to ISO 9001

and ISO/TS 16949.

Miko formally adopts the Organization and

Management Model (Modello di Organizzazione

e Gestione), pursuant to Legislative Decree no.

231/01 (Liability of legal persons), together with the

relevant Code of Ethics and Conduct.

This fundamental document is geared to ensure

fairness and transparency in the conduct of business

and corporate activities, to protect its position and

image.

Dinamica® is a microfiber made of recycled

polyester, deriving from polyester fibres, and

water-borne polyurethane. Its production process

is similar to that used for paper recycling, in which

no harmful chemical substances are used. During

dyeing, the use of neutral, non-toxic coloring agents

is a further guarantee of the product’s naturalness

and respect for health and the environment.

• Recycling polyester means reducing energy consumption

and CO2 emissions into the atmosphere by 80% compared to

the traditional petrol-based polyester production process.

• Dinamica® for upholstery is certified according to the Oeko-

Tex® Standard 100 class I.

necessary

Over the years, Miko has demonstrated its

constant and active commitment in preventing

and minimizing the impacts of its processes and

products on the environment. Miko guarantees eco-

sustainability along the whole Dinamica® production

cycle, ensuring a low level of polluting emissions and

energy consumption during production. Dinamica® is

designed for easy disposal, and is 100% recyclable at

the end of its useful life.

• In November 2011, Miko installed a photovoltaic plan of

1 mega watt saving almost 450 t of CO2 emissions into the

atmosphere per year.

• Starting from 2013, Miko has optimized the production

cycles leading to a significant reduction of the consumption of

energy, water and chemicals.

• In recent years, Miko has received several important awards

demonstrating an appreciation for its corporate philosophy and

products by committees of experts in the environmental field.

Best product of the year

The EPD® certification, the most advanced

Environmental Product Declaration for products in

accordance with ISO 14025 standards, is the ultimate

step in Miko’s commitment to the environment. The

EPD® provide a transparent system for comparing

environmental data of similar products, based on

scientific and international principles.

• Since the year 2010, it has adopted an approach towards Life

Cycle Thinking and credible communication of its products

against greenwashing.

• The environmental performance of Dinamica® Auto has been

assessed using the Life Cycle Assessment analysis (LCA)

from cradle to gate in conformity with the ISO 14040 standards.

• In July 2012, Dinamica® Auto and Dinamica® Auto Pure

obtained the EPD® certification. This has laid the basis of a

bigger project that was completed in 2013 with the EPD®

Process Certification.
