Coach Dave Rebar enters his second season as the Spartans Head Coach. Last season he led his alma mater to a 5-5 (2-3 league play) record in his first season. Previously, Coach Rebar was the Defensive Line Coach under Coach Frank Paz-zaglia here at Mid Valley during the 2011 and 2012 seasons. From 1997-2012, he served several stints as an assistant coach at Mid Valley, West Scranton and Pittston Area. He was the Defensive Coordinator at Pittston Area in 2001. Dave spent two seasons in 2000 and 2001 as a position coach at Brown University, coaching the Defensive Line and Outside Linebackers.From 2002-2005 Coach Rebar was the Head Coach at Riverside High School in Taylor, PA. Coach Rebar started 2 plus seasons at Defensive End at Syracuse University from 1991-1995 where he appeared in 3 bowl games. A 1991 Mid Valley graduate, Coach Rebar was named a First Team All-State Defensive Lineman, a Hookey Reap Award Winner and was selected as a member of the Pennsylvania squad for the 1991 Big 33 Game. Coach Rebar currently teaches Earth and Space Science here at Mid Valley. He and his wife, Paula, reside in Throop with their children Zach, Avery and Courtney.
