• Micropulva has over 30 years of experience in micronizing technology and its applications. Micronizing equipment is delivered not only to Finland but also around the world. Applications include milling sugar, cocoa, wheat, ilmenite, wollastonite, platinum furnace matte, to name a few.

• The key personnel have long experience in the mining, minerals and chemical industries, construction materials, pulp and paper and energy production, finance and administration.

• Micropulva has a patent portfolio that covers the key technologies and applications based on the patents.

• Marketing is based on pilot micronization done at a state-of-the-art testing facility. Pilot micronization is always done together with the clients and Micropulva specialists.

1. Development of new, finer and high-quality raw materials to save non-renewable natural raw materials and to enhance efficient use of such materials.

2. Sustainable development by recycling waste materials, such as fly ash, which can be used in concrete after the carbon content has been removed by flotation.

3. Energy efficiency. The use of kinetic energy in particle size reduction reduces energy consumption (kWh/product ton) to approximately half of the competitors.

4. High-quality products. Efficient dynamic classification together with controlled energy consumption. Precise product particle size distribution as per customer requirements.

• Effective and economical micronization is based on two-phase flow utilizing the law of kinetic energy E = 1

2mv2

• Cost-effective production of particle surface area m2 /kWh:

1. Work gas (compressed air) and the material to be

micronized are mixed inside the mill and the mixture

is directed to two opposite Laval nozzles.

2. In the nozzles, the mixture is

accelerated to supersonic or near

supersonic speeds.

3. Particle size reduction is autogeneous and instant

by particle collision.

Carbon-free fly ash

1. Carbon-free fly ash can be used in concrete, significantly reducing the use of cement and enhancing sustainable development by reducing the use of non-renewable raw materials and by lessening the carbon footprint in the cement and construction industries.

2. The end products are nearly carbon free, reactive mineral fraction and carbon concentrate, which can be used in further processing.

3. The most effective mineral and coal separation method is the well-known flotation method.

4. Closed water process, no environmental risks.

5. Old, huge fly ash deposits can be economically recycled for reuse.

Micropulva piloting and testing

28.11.2017 11

1. Customer raw material testing and mutual acceptance of the test results is vital for successful equipment delivery. Micropulva has a modern, state-of-the-art piloting and testing facility that assesses feasibility, end product quality and cost economy.

2. The pilot equipment can be operated in eithermicronizing or microclassification mode.

3. A comprehensive report with particle size distribution curves of the material before and after testing is provided.

1. Uniform quality of the product with controlled particle size distribution. Even nanosize products are economically feasible.

2. Competitive Capex and Opex. Short payback period.

• Small footprint

• Simple construction, versatile process: dries – mills – classifies

• Simple installation

• No waste heat

• Low noise level

3. Low operating cost:

• Up to 50% less energy per unit of final product compared to the competitors.

• Can replace some mechanical milling processes due to low energy consumption.

• Low Opex, no wearing parts

Micropulva technology benefits

Page 13: MICROPULVA Ltd Oy
