Characteristics

A chipmunk is small and brown. A chipmunk has fur and is fast. A chipmunk is round and is a mammal.

Habitat

Chipmunks live underground and chipmunks also hibernate. Chipmunks live in burrows in North Carolina.

DietChipmunks eat mushrooms and nuts. A chipmunk looks for its food and stuffs it in its cheeks and walks with the food to its burrow because it hibernates.

Behavior

A chipmunk can climb up trees and will make a burrow. Also a chipmunk likes to play with its family.

Defense

A chipmunk runs away from danger and hides until the danger is gone. A chipmunk runs a lot faster than you do and will bite sometimes.

Life Cycle

First the baby is in the mom's stomach. Then it comes out and its mother cares for it. The baby chipmunk grows and grows until it is an adult.
