Date of Testing: February 23rd, 2015 through February 27th, 2015 Sample Description: Model “TZ-1826” Grease Interceptor. Refer to the manufacturer’s drawings and installation instructions for more
detailed measurements and information. Scope of Testing: The above grease interceptor was witnessed tested to meet the
requirements of ASME A112.14.3-2000 (Reaffirmed 2004) “Grease Interceptors”.
Conclusion: The “TZ-1826” Grease Interceptor DID COMPLY with the
requirements of ASME A112.14.3-2000 (Reaffirmed 2004) for “Grease Interceptors”.

LHFC Low Head Flow Control InstallationThe Trapzilla unit is shipped with the LHFC-160 (for Model TZ-160) or LHFC-400/600 (for Models TZ-400, TZ-600, TZ-525, and TZ-1826) Low Head Height, Vented Flow Control. This needs to be installed directly at the inlet of the Trapzilla. The Flow Control Vent may be independent direct connect to atmosphere or code-approved air admittance valve. NEVER CONNECT TO FACILITY VENT.

1. System Overview
The Thermaco, Inc. Trapzilla99® series Grease Interceptor collects 99% of free-oating grease oils contained in itchen
drain water ows. As most ood service acilit managers alread now, grease buildup inside a building s grease containment s stem is a major cause o problems due to e terior drain line bloc ages. These problems jeopardi e normal operations as well as create health and sa et ha ards within the acilit itsel .
The proper installation of a Trapzilla99 series grease interceptor can reduce or eliminate grease problems and costl sewer surcharges and fines through 99 e ficient separation and retention o ree- loating grease oils.
Trap illa99 grease interceptors o ers patented at separation curve technolog . This means that the unit does not lose grease separation e ficienc as it fills with retained grease. Thus, the grease interceptor stores large uantities o grease without losing e ficienc . The uni ue compact design o the Trap illa allows or installation into most acilities. ptions are available that enable a Trap illa unit to be installed on the oor, suspended rom the ceiling or in-ground outside the acilit .
Trap illa99 units are designed to treat high ows o itchen drainwater with large grease storage capacit within a small ootprint unit. These units are eas to maneuver into position and just as eas to plumb.

3.1.2 Inlet/Outlet Piping

Thermaco, Inc. recommends installation o Two- a Cleanouts on both the Inlet and Outlet of Trapzilla Interceptors and Solids Separators in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations and codes. 3.1.3 Flow Controls
Trap illa s stems are supplied with a ow- ead low Control module ( C). This should be connected to the inlet o the Trap illa unit in situations where ow rate needs to be restricted to the AS rated ow or when vented ow control is re uired b local code.
3.1.4 Venting the Outlet
An outlet vent or approved air admittance valve o at least 1/2 the diameter o the s stem s outlet connection must be present as close as possible to the Trap illa outlet to prevent possible siphonage problems. 3.1.5 High Head Height Applications Over Six (6) Feet (1.95 m)

The SSA-1826 Support Stand is a one-piece assembl with a conical center that sits on the oor. It does not add appreciable height to the assembl .
4. Above-Ground Installation
4.1 Components for Above-Ground Installations

T -1826-SSA comes with SSA-1826 and e ternal brace or above-ground installations. All T -1826 units come with built-in 18 isers which must be cut down and secured in field.
The ternal race must be installed in above-ground installations or the warrant will be voided.
NOTE: SUPPORT STAND MUST BE INSTALLED OVER A CONTINUOUS SURFACE. N O N - C O N T I N U O U S SURFACES SUCH AS GRATES ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR SUPPORT.

4.3.4 Installation of Pipe Hangers with Above-Ground Units
Trap illa units installed indoors, above-ground re uire the use o pipe hangers (purchased separatel ) to properl support plumbing and reduce stress on connections with unit. Thermaco recommends the use o our (4) inc-plated Steel oop St le hangers with 1000 lbs. wor load limit or a single Trap illa installation with two (2) hangers placed be ore inlet side cleanout and two (2) hangers placed a ter final cleanout. 5.3 Concrete Specifications for In-Ground InstallationIn order to o set the e ects o buo anc caused b groundwater (high water tables), strengthen the sideload o the unit, and prevent movement o the unit in the event o shi ting earth, Thermaco, Inc. recommends concrete be poured around the entiret o Trap illa® units installed in-ground in the amounts o concrete specified in the table below. The concrete must to be poured continuousl and completel surrounding the Trap illa® bod (and tension Collars i applicable) to ensure proper strength and securit at a compression strength o 4000 psi (C28/35).

5.5 Trimming and Setting the ECA-TZ-18 Single-Piece Extension Collar
In-Ground Trap illa odels ship with a built-in, single-piece, 18 e tension collar that must be trimmed and then set to the correct height to bring the Solid Top Cover to grade.
Follow the steps below to set the extension
collar prior to backfilling the hole with
concrete.

Step 2 emove the e tension collar adapter ring rom the unit with the extension collar still in place. On the underside o the cover, mar the e cess e tension collar length at the bottom o the our (4) s irt portions o the adapter ring. Chec the e tension collar height dimension re uentl during this mar ing to ensure that the collar has not moved.

Step 1 ith the Trap illa unit installed in its permanent location, raise the telescoping e tension collar to finished grade or oor level. easure the height rom the top o the unit to this finished e tension collar height and record this dimension.

Step 5 or ing rom the bottom o the assembl , install eight (8) sel -drilling, sel -tapping screws (provided) through the e tension collar wall and into the adapter ring. Two o these screws should be installed in each o the our (4) s irt areas o the adapter ring. Chec the e tension collar height dimension re uentl during this operation to ensure that the collar has not moved. Note se caution when tightening these screws to ensure that the do not strip.
Step 6 Place the adapter ring/e tension collar assembl onto the Trapzilla unit. Position the small cover onto the e tension collar. Secure the adapter ring and the small cover with the brass nuts and at washers provided. Seal the gap between the 18 e tension collar and e tension collar adapter ring using a silicone sealant.
Step 3 emove the e tension collar rom the adapter ring and, with an appropriate saw, cut along the line created in Step 2 to remove the excessive extension collar.
Step 4 einsert the e tension collar into the adapter ring ensuring that the cover alignment e on the e tension collar is aligned with its recess in the adapter ring.

6.1 Measuring Grease/Solids Levels

6.2 Pumping/Servicing Unit
Periodicall , the Trap illa unit will need to be serviced which involves pumping out all accumulated grease and solids. 7. Limited Warranty and Remedy
Thermaco Incorporated warrants to the original user that the outer tan and inner tan components o the product manu actured b Thermaco and delivered with this warrant (the Product ) shall be ree rom material de ects in wor manship and materials during the li etime o the plumbing s stem in which the Product is initiall installed. Notwithstanding the oregoing, this warrant shall not cover, and Thermaco shall have no obligation to repair or replace, an o the ollowing component parts o the Product lid, gas ets, brac ets, nuts, and ow control.

Thermaco shall not be responsible or damage to products resulting rom ultraviolet light e posure, oating o tan , vault ooding, sewer line bac -up, pumping or li t station ailure, ambient water ow, ree ing, or other sources o water damage.
