CAMPO DI APPLICAZIONE - PERFORMANCE RANGE

The structural design of the pumps has been elab-orated in order to obtain construction solutionsoptimized for different pressure ranges.

Due to pressure applications, four families havebeen developed:

- LP (Low Pressure) up to 80 bar and 3,600 rpm- MP (Medium Pressure) from 80 to 150 bar and 3,600 rpm- HP (High Pressure) from 150 to 250 bar and 7,000 rpm- HHP (High High Pressure) from 250 to 350 bar and 7,000 rpm

Il progetto strutturale è stato elaborato in modotale da permettere soluzioni costruttive in funzione della pressione di esercizio.

Sono disponibili soluzioni costruttive per iseguenti campi di pressione:

- LP (Bassa Pressione) fino ad 80 bar e 3.600 rpm- MP (Media Pressione) da 80 a 150 bar e 3.600 rpm- HP (Alta Pressione) da 150 a 250 bar e 7.000 rpm- HHP (Altissima Pressione) da 250 a 350 bar e 7.000 rpm

Since many years Termomeccanica S.p.A.has been designing and manufacturingmultistage pumps, for high pressure ser-

vices.

In the early ‘30 theCompany alreadydesigns and manu-factures horizontalmultistage pumpsaxially split casing,for boiler feed waterservice on board ofships; afterwards aseries of horizontalmultistage ring sec-tion pumps hasbeen realized, withexternal tie rods,and in the lastdecades a newseries of horizontalmultistage barrelpumps,full cartridgepull out type, namedMESB.

Coming from a wide and extensive experi-ence, got in the boiler feed water service forThermal Power Plants, in which we are pre-sent since the early ‘60s, the Company hasafterwards strengthened its presence inother market areas as: water injection,descaling in steel plants, R.O. desalinationplants, refineries and petrochemical plants.

The experience acquired internationallyand the requirements of this competitiveand demanding market have been incorpo-rated in these pumps to enhance andimprove their performances; therefore weare in position to state that our technicalsolutions are the most advanced availableon the market.

These pumps are produced under the “Ter-momeccanica’s Quality Program” in com-pliance with UNI EN ISO 9001, as certifiedby Lloyd’s Register Quality AssuranceAuthority in 1996.

LA STORIA - THE HISTORY

Da molti anni Termomeccanica S.p.A. pro-getta e costruisce pompe centrifughe multi-stadio, per servizi ad alta pressione.

Già negli anni ‘30l’Azienda è fornitri-ce di pompe oriz-zontali multistadioa cassa divisa as-sialmente per ilservizio alimento abordo di navi; suc-cessivamente neglianni ‘60 viene rea-lizzata una serie dipompe multicellu-lari con tirantiesterni e, negli ulti-mi decenni, unaserie di pompemultistadio barrelcon parte internaremovibile per ser-vizi ad alta pressio-ne, denominataMESB.

Usufruendo dell’esperienza maturata nelservizio alimento caldaie per Centrali Ter-moelettriche , l’Azienda ha successivamen-te consolidato la propria presenza su altrisettori di mercato quali: iniezione pozzi,discagliatura servizi alta pressione in dissa-latori ad osmosi inversa, raffinerie edimpianti petrolchimici, acquisendo neltempo incondizionati riconoscimenti a livel-lo mondiale.

L’esperienza acquisita nel mercato interna-zionale e le esigenze di un mercato semprepiù esigente e concorrenziale ci hanno por-tato ad affinare e migliorare continuamenteil nostro prodotto, per cui attualmente pos-siamo affermare che le soluzioni tecnicheadottate sono le più evolute che il mercatopossa offrire.

Anche questo prodotto si inserisce nel con-testo del programma di “Qualità Termo-meccanica” e delle norme di certificazioneUNI EN ISO 9001 ottenuto nel 1996 dalLloyd’s Register Quality Assurance Autho-rity.

IL RENDIMENTO - THE EFFICIENCY

La particolare geometria adottate nella progetta-zione delle giranti e diffusori e la filosofia impiega-ta nella disposizione delle varie pompe nel campodi prestazioni, permettono di ottenere sempre altirendimenti per ogni esigenza del Cliente.

Approfonditi collaudi nella nostra Sala Prove eriscontri ricevuti dagli Impianti hanno permesso dicertificare i valori previsti, con rendimenti ai piùalti livelli del mercato.

The peculiar design geometry adopted forimpellers and diffusers, along with the philosophyin the coverage of the performance range, allow toget efficiencies at the highest levels for any Cus-tomer’s demand.

Extensive tests in our Test Room and feed-backfrom the Plants have confirmed the expected val-ues.

LA PROGETTAZIONE - THE DESIGN

Le pompe MESB possono essere fornite in accor-do con lo Standard API 610 - 8° edizione, o specifi-che richieste del Cliente. Il progetto meccanicoprevede la possibilità di rimuovere la parte internain modo da non compromettere l’allineamento esenza disconnettere le tubazioni di aspirazione emandata.I supporti dei cuscinetti sono montati sulla parteestraibile della macchina; i cuscinetti possono esse-re del tipo a rotolamento o a strisciamento, a secon-da del servizio richiesto o delle specifiche richiestedel Cliente.Il coperchio di mandata è fissato al barrel tramiteun sistema ad anello, che permette una manuten-zione semplice e veloce, in modo da ridurre alminimo i tempi di fermata dell’impianto.Quando richiesto può essere adottata una soluzio-ne con fissaggio attraverso prigionieri.

The MESB series pumps can be supplied in com-pliance with API 610 - 8° edition or specific Cus-tomer’s requirements; mechanical design, with fullcartridge pull out feature permits easy removal ofcomplete inner casing, without disturbing pumpalignement and pipeworks.

The bearing supports are installed on the remov-able part of the pump; the bearings can be provid-ed both roller or sleeve type, upon the selectedservice or specific Client’s requirements.

Moreover the inner casing is locked out by a shearrings device, to further reduce the maintenancetime.When required bolted cover solution can be pro-vided.

Balancing device of axial thrust can be provided bypiston or disk solution.Furthermore the first stage impeller can bedesigned double suction type, in order to operateat very low NPSH conditions.

The Company’s extensive operating experience inthe pumps field has led to the use of a wide rangeof material options, fit to comply with the specificrequirements of the different services

La spinta idraulica assiale è contrastata da undispositivo di equilibrio, che può essere del tipo atamburo o a disco.La girante di primo stadio può essere progettata adoppio imbocco, qualora le condizioni in aspira-zione siano critiche.

Il campo di applicazione prevede portate fino a1.200 mc/h, con velocità di rotazione fino a 7.000rpm; una adeguata disponibilità di idrauliche a dif-ferenti velocità specifiche, consente l’impiego dialberi corti e rigidi, in modo da garantire la massi-ma stabilità del rotore.

Le velocità critiche sono molto al di sopra dellavelocità di funzionamento.I ridotti giochi adottati non solo garantiscono ren-dimenti elevati a macchina nuova, ma anche dopolunghi periodi di funzionamento.

L’ottimizzazione idraulica delle pompe MESB per-mette un perfetto funzionamento dalla portata diminimo ricircolo alla massima portata richiestadall’impianto.

Tali prestazioni sono sempre verificate presso laSala Prove Termomeccanica, che è strutturata pereseguire collaudi a piena potenza e nelle condi-zioni di temperatura di esercizio.

The performance range chart includes capacitiesup to 1,200 cm/h, with rotation speeds up to 7,000rpm; different specific speeds make possible shortand stiff shafts, in order to assure maximum rotordynamic stability.

Critical speeds are largerly above the operatingspeed.The reduced clearences, added to the particularselected materials guarantee high efficiencieseven after long working periods.

The hydraulic optimization of the MESB pumpsallows a trouble free operation, from minimumflow to run out conditions.

Such conditions are always verified in Termomec-canica’s Test Room, which is equipped to performtests at full power and operating temperatures.
