M E E T P A U L APaula O’Hara completed her degree in Visual Communication way back in 1998 and has nearly 20 years experience working in the creative industries in Northern Ireland. For the past six years she has concentrated solely on her work as a wedding and editorial photographer shooting all over Ireland and further afield.

Selected by Rangefinder Magazine as one of the Rising Stars of International Wedding Photography in 2013, she has had the honour of having her work featured in top wedding publications including Utterly Engaged, Junebug Weddings, Southern Weddings, Once Wed, Pacific Weddings, Brides Magazine and Magnolia Rouge Magazine. She is a member of Style Me Pretty’s Exclusive Little Black Book.

Increasingly Paula has been asked to teach, speak and share her experiences as a photographer both in local colleges and also on a bigger platform for Photography Farm, Snap Photo Festival, Junebug Weddings and Red Leaf Boutique.

She loves tea from the pot, good reads, old photographs, fresh blooms, and long rambles in wild places. She is a true romantic and an eternal daydreamer. She lives in the countryside with her husband Des, the kids – Seanán and Niamh, the cats and Molly the Wheatie.

OVERVIEWAs photographers and creatives we are constantly being fed with information. Taking so much in, scrolling, clicking, browsing, downloading, flicking... there is a world of tools, advice and resources out there for photographers nowadays. But the answers aren’t always out there, they’re also within you. As a mentor it is my task to help you unlock them. Having a mentor offer guidance, critique your work and give you honest feedback is an invaluable learning tool. Learning and growth is about self-awareness, sacrifice, working through the problems, and most importantly time and patience. There is no quick-fix here but hopefully together we can put the structures in place to set you on the right path.

WHY MENTORING?These Mentoring sessions are personalised and very much focused on YOU and YOUR BUSINESS. I am also happy to ‘answer anything’ and share secrets of how I’ve grown a successful photography business over the years. Ultimately, I want you to have the groundwork to build a business and brand that is not only sustainable, but one that you can gain much fulfillment and joy from.Mentoring sessions are open to those just starting on their journey as photographers, and also those who might have gotten a little lost and need to find their way again. I hope to give you the tools to build a photography business around your own strengths.

IN-PERSON SESSIONSIN-person sessions take place at my home studio here in Bleary, CountyArmagh,NorthernIreland. This is handy if you’re local but if you are a photographer travelling to Northern Ireland or coming from the South, there are lots of places to stay nearby, and local trains and buses. I can help you with this.

SKYPE ONLINE SESSIONS I realise not everyone is in a position to travel to meet me so I also offer ‘one-hour Skype conversations’. These are basically ‘ask me anything’ sessions. Nothing is off-limits but if there is a particularly topic you would like to focus on that would work well for this time-frame. As long as you have Skype and a good internet connection you can get in touch from anywhere in the world!

•ONEHOURSKYPESESSIONPRICE-£150

A date in the diary is secured for you upon receipt of full payment. You can pay through Paypal or online Bank Transfer. Full payment must be received before your session. An invoice will be sent out to you. I will then send you ‘Preparation Information’ for the session so we’ll have everything we need to get the most out of your time.
