Monday, June 11 10—11 a.m. This presentation will include an overview of how our eyes work and education about common eye disor-ders There will be a special emphasis on age-related macular degeneration (AMD), care and prevention, as well as a question and answer session. Hop on The Bus The Association of the Specialists in Aging (ASA) pre-sents HOP ON THE BUS, an opportu-nity to learn about options for sen-iors. We will visit area senior care facilities, tour each facility and meet the staff. The itinerary this year in-cludes breakfast at the Mentor Sen-ior Center, Tripoint Hospital, Altercare of Mentor, Heartland of Mentor for lunch, Kemper House and an ice-cream social at Golden Living. The day will include continental break-fast, lunch, ice cream, and door prizes. This event is free, but space is limited so advanced registration is required on a first come first served basis until capacity is reached. Age of Champions July Date to be announced

Randall Residence will be presenting the movie documentary and film festi-val award winner ―Age of Champions.‖ This movie is an uplifting story of five competitors who sprint, leap and swim for gold at the National Senior Olym-pics. The movie features a 100 year old tennis champion and several other inspirational stories that show the power of the human spirit and how they‘re determined not to let age af-fect their goals and dreams! The Washington Post called the film ―infectiously inspiring‖ and its charac-ters have been featured in major me-dia outlets including ABC, CBS, PBS and NPR. In addition, there will be special guests highlighting health and wellness. Nutri-tional snacks, fitness tips, door prizes and more! Come out and get inspired and have fun in the process!!

Wednesday, July 18, 7:30 p.m. Enjoy a wonderful performance by this 17 member Swing Band that specializes in the ―Big Band‖ sound of the 1940‘s, 1950‘s & 1960‘s. 2012 Senior Games June 4—9 Lake Metroparks will once again host to the 2012 Senior Regional Games. Registration fee is $20. Participants may enter as many events as they choose and will receive a T-shirt. This event provides a week long venue of competitive events and fun activi-ties. Anybody can participate. You do not need to have an athletic back-ground though it may be helpful with the track and field events. The Men-tor Senior Center will be the host site of the Cornhole tournament on Thursday, June 7 at 2 pm. Pick up your flyer at the front desk. Notes from Renee A special thank you to the Mentor Rotary for 2 beautiful landscaped flower beds. The group donated the materials, expertise and manpower for the breathtaking beds. They

add color and beauty to our Munson Road entrance. Our monthly celebrations are getting busier every month. Plan to join us for a special meal and great entertainment the last Friday of the month. Please make your reservation at least one week in advance to ensure your spot. At our members request there will no longer be a birthday table.

PROGRAM/ACTIVITY REFUND GUIDELINES READ CAREFULLY. 1. Full refund or transfer if Mentor Senior Center cancels the program/activity. 2. This fitness program is designed to empower people with Park-inson‘s disease (PD), by optimizing their physical function and helping delay the progression of symptoms. Yoga The yoga classes are a mixture of gentle stretches combined with traditional yoga postures. The sense of wellness acquired through practice is caused by easing muscle tension, massag-ing internal organs, and improving flexibility of the joints. The Tuff Stuff strength station offers a wide variety of exercises and the Precor stretch trainer offers great stretching options. Scrapbooking for Beginners Participants will learn how to use techniques that are funda-mental to creating scrapbooks.
