Someone once said “How can I control my life when I can’t control my hair?!” They must have known what they were talking about. A great head of hair is always a stunner and gives you confidence – and its sure to get other heads turning, whether they have great hair or not. And we all know how a bad hair day can be a killjoy and leave you feeling self conscious and wanting to hide. Some people are born with it – genes that favor hair that looks great all the time. But for most of us, we have to take care of our hair constantly if we

want to look half decent. It doesn’t matter whether you have a perm, dreads or just plain natural hair, care is a must. The greatest thing you can do for you hair is make sure to choose the best products for it. Just like you would not choose a cheap product to apply on your skin because it may cause more harm than good, use that same principle when it comes to choosing products for your hair. The problem is, when you go to the hair product market, it’s overwhelming. There are millions of products, all which claim this or the other special quality. So

how do you choose the best? Let’s first have a look at WHY you must choose the best:1. The best products promote healthy, strong, growing hair.2. They prevent damage when your hair is exposed either to water, heat or cold.3. They work to maintain a healthy scalp. We all know how bad an itchy and flaky scalp can be.

4. Hair is a part of your body, and as such you must make sure that whatever goes on it is healthy and does not affect the rest of your body – there are some products out there that are reputed to have carcinogenic compounds masked in long, scientific names.5. If you want to have your hair for longer, start feeding it well now. As we grow older, hair tends to thin and fall. Poorly managed hair will thin and fall sooner than hair that is well taken care of.6. Just ONE bad product can leave you with damage that will take years

The economy is lean, your purse is lean and your body can use this time to get lean as well. Many ask the question is it possible to eat healthy, fine cuisine on a shoe string budget? The answer is a resounding YES! You can make healthy choices of tasty cuisine while juggling a lean budget. How often have you decided that you were going to eat healthier and make healthy choices only to go into your local supermarket and become frustrated because many times the fresh vegetables and fruits are more expensive than the dry noodles that only require that you add water and microwave? The picture above is a delicious menu of Blackened Tilapia, Steamed

Veggies (Carrots, Zucchini and Yellow Squash, and Broccoli sautéed in a light maple syrup glaze, served with a Salad. From the picture you may think “no way is that a budget meal.” That’s where you are wrong, and thanks to some Midsouth grocers and distributors this meal can be both succulent to the taste buds, and gracious on your purse.Let’s explore this for a moment. You can purchase a 24oz bag of freshly frozen Tilapia from Aldi’s for the low price of $5.99.While you are there pick up a bottle of Maple Syrup preferably the lite one, and a bag of Salad Mix which sells for only $1.99. Next visit your local Ike’s and get your Blackened Seasoning for $.50, yes fifty cents! Take a trip to your nearest Easy Way and get

your fresh Zucchini, Yellow Squash, Broccoli, and a bag of Carrots. I don’t have to tell you how reasonable the fresh vegetables are there. Season your fish on both sides with the Blackened Seasoning and sear it in a skillet with a small amount of Olive Oil or coated with Pam. Turn on both sides until done for no more than 10 minutes. Steam your fresh vegetables with a small portion of Maple Syrup as a glaze. Prepare Salad and you have a healthy, tasty meal all for less that $20.Now you may think Twenty Bucks on a meal is not a budget. If you’re
