Memoirs of a desert.

Look at me now, oh you daughters of green

Once I was like you, green and to the brim filled with a grin

I played host to all and sundry, the minions and mighty

Who came to merry in feasts and party

Some called me, Haven On Earth.

I wonder now, where did I miss the path to delight?

Did the man above contrive my plight?

Now am a lonely sandy vast patch, all hope scorched

Not an iota of rain for years elapsed

I crave to quench my thirst by the camels urine

It reminds me of the pleasant aura of rain on my skin

So much to my chagrin

I miss to witness the grass split the rays of the mighty Sun

Where is the noise of the river?

Absence of men of men leaves me in quiver

I envy you daughters of green

But, defend yourselves from the destructive man

Who destroys your green with abject abundance

Desiccating all the beauty bestowed in abundance
