Ways to Join1. Profession of FaithAny person, baptised or unbaptised, desiring to confess faith in Jesus Christ and live a life of discipleship may become a member of the First United Methodist Church.This method of joining is reconmended for those who have never belonged to a church as a registared member.
2. Transfer from Another DenominationIf you are a member of a church of another denomination, we will recieve you by transfer of membership.
3. Transfer from Another United Methodist ChurchIf you are a member of another United Methodist Church, we will recieve you by transfer of membership.
How to Join
1. Reception at the AlterThis is the most common way of joining the First United Methodist Church. Simply fill out our joining card and come forward during the last hymn. You will be ask the questions to the right and then be recieved into the First United Methodist Church as a member.
2. Personal ContactIt is not absolutely necessary to join publicly. Just fill out our joining card and hand it to our pastor. You will be asked the questions to the right and then be recieved into the First United Methodist Church.
Membership Questions
1. Do you believe in your heart and confess with your lips that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father?
2. Will you love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength?
3. Will you love your neighbor as yourself?
4. Will you serve the people of this community and this church with the gifts and resources God has given you?
Our Pastor will gladly visit with you if you would like to discuss the meaning to
these questions prior to joining.
