A Dynamic Voice for leaders in Colorado public education
It’s an honor to be your association of choice. Let’s work together to do good things for Colorado public education.
Established in 1969, CASE serves
as the dynamic voice for Colorado
public school administrators.
For over 40 years we’ve been
providing outstanding legislative
and advocacy services, professional
learning opportunities, and timely
communications and networking.
We’re proud to represent about 2,000
members from all across the state.

bills that CASE tracks
and lobbies during the

We work to limit the impact
of cuts to K – 12 education,
fight against unfunded
mandates, and are involved in
legislation that will improve
the learning opportunities
for Colorado students.

LegisLative & advocacy services
CASE advances our interests at the Capitol, works to defeat harmful legislation, and forges coalitions to address difficult policy issues. I know school administrators are well-represented at the legislature by CASE, but more importantly, our unified voice is acknowledged for its expertise in K – 12 education.
Glenn GustafsonDeputy Superintendent/CFO, Colorado Springs District 11
Legal AssistanceAs a CASE member, you can access immediate, expert legal services for employment-related issues. Wrongful dismissal? Substantial alteration of contract? Involuntary change in status? We’ll connect you with an attorney who can advise you on your particular situation. (Individuals must be active members of CASE
for at least one year to be eligible for legal services.)
We Represent YouCASE is well-respected for effectively advancing the interests of school
administrators at the Capitol and in other policy arenas. We have
strong relationships with legislators, decision-makers at the Colorado
Department of Education, State Board of Education members, key
partner education associations, and other state policymakers. Through
CASE, your voice is heard on the issues that impact public education.
Fighting for School FundingCASE works hard at the Capitol to protect
every possible dollar for K – 12 education.
Educators must have the support and financial
resources necessary to effectively meet the
learning needs of all students. In this uncertain
fiscal environment, you can be assured that
CASE is a leader in seeking a solution to our
school funding crisis.
Building Coalitions We partner with other education stakeholders
to strengthen the unified voice for public
education. CASE has positive working
relationships with the Colorado Association
of School Boards, the Colorado Education
Association, the Colorado BOCES, the Rural
Schools Caucus, and other groups.
Weighing in Where It MattersTypically there are about 80 education-related
bills introduced each year at the legislature.
We track and actively lobby the legislation that
stands to impact you most, including on issues
like school finance, PERA, unfunded mandates,
educator effectiveness, charter schools,
and standards and assessments.
Creating AwarenessCASE is continually sought out by policy-
makers because we represent expert
leaders in public education. We share your
perspectives and expertise with legislators
to help build their understanding of the
challenges and issues you face on a daily basis.

Liability InsuranceYour CASE membership entitles you to $100,000 in liability insurance. We hope you’ll never need it, but should you ever be named in a work-related lawsuit, you’ll know you have comprehensive representation and a financial safety net. Plus, for a nominal fee, you can boost your coverage to up to $2 million. If you ever need to access this benefit, just contact CASE and we’ll assist you right away.
The success I’ve experienced as a school administrator has been inspired and supported by the outstanding CASE conferences and workshops that I’ve attended. The strategies and tools that I’ve gained at these events help me do my job better and effectively meet the learning needs of students.

CASE Coordinating CouncilCASE is governed by a 17-member Coordinating Council, which is made up of the President
and President-elect of each of CASE’s seven departments. Additionally, the CASE President,
President-elect, and Past President serve on the Council. The Coordinating Council plays an
important leadership role at CASE by overseeing the work of the association, determining
policies and priorities, and adopting an annual budget. Like CASE department members,
Coordinating Council officers build valuable connections with other Colorado administrators.
CASE Department BoardsEach of CASE’s seven departments is governed by a board of directors. These boards set the
course and activities for their departments, and help connect what’s happening in the field to
the work that CASE does on a daily basis. Board members gain a unique perspective on the
issues and challenges facing their job-alike colleagues in other districts. They also have the
chance to hear regularly and directly from CASE about the work of the association and weigh
in on those priorities. Department board elections are held annually, and directors are selected
by their department member peers.
CASE CommitteesCASE committees offer another opportunity to get involved in our association and ensure
your voice is heard. Serve on committees that include the Legislative Committee, CASE
Leadership Development Diversity Council, and Professional Development Advisory
Committee, and share your perspective and insights. Openings for these committees
are announced as they become available.
Getting Involved Expand your influence through CASE leadership
opportunities. By serving on a CASE department
board or committee, you’ll gain valuable
experience and a greater awareness of the statewide K – 12 perspective.

professional network, and sharpen your leadership skills.

select the Colorado Superintendent of the Year, National Distinguished
Elementary School Principal of the Year, Assistant Principal of the Year,
Middle Level Principal of the Year, and High School Principal of the Year.
