Heard ‘Round L.I.F.EThe L.I.F.E. on the Wabash chapter, sponsored by ourfriends at Conservatory of Music in Terre Haute, Indiana arealways busy in their community making music and lending ahelping hand. Food drives, sponsoring community serviceevents, and getting press in the local news media to name afew items. Late last year Janet and Chuck Harmon wereselected for the Hamilton Award for Volunteers, a well-deserved recognition of their generous community contribu-tions.

Sponsored by Maestro Music of Levittown, NY, the MelodyMakers of L.I.F.E., in addition to their raucous monthlymeetings, are presenting music concerts and introducing theLong Island community to the well benefits of making music.At a recent gathering they presented a session of ‘Name ThatTune’ and are scheduling guest speakers for future meetings.

Critchett’s Piano & Organ sponsored chapter, Harmony forL.I.F.E. are gaining somewhat of a celebrity status with theirmusic making. Dirk Thieben of Critchett’s reports thegroup’s recent outreach ‘gigs’ have the joints jumpin’ andeveryone wearing smiles.

Judy Nobles reports from Loon-y Tunes for L.I.F.E., spon-sored by Schmitt Music in Roseville, MN and shares news oftheir hugely popular(6th annual) Friends Playing ForFriends Concert. 14 Lowrey players, a packed Schmitt Musicauditorium and a North Suburban video crew made for anenjoyable afternoon of music. The video of the event rannumerous times throughout the following week on a localcable channel. And we just had to share this picture of Loon-y Tuner, Merry Fragomeni and her adorable granddaughtersas they performed together at a Christmas event.
