They later moved to Gate House No.6 Springwood known as 'Brady's Crossing', John worked for the railways. He accompanied Hume and Hovell on their journey to Port Phillip Bay in 1824. He married Mary ATKINSON/ATKINS in 1832 and later married Elizabeth CUMMINS in 1868 when he was 71. Elizabeth died in April 1882 (aged 32) and James died in August 1882, leaving their children under the guardianship of Patrick J.
