Melbourne Central Catholic offers a four year honors diploma for the ad-

vanced college bound student. This program of study challenges students

across all areas of academic disciplines. Applications must be submitted

prior to the end of the junior year. Student must have a 3.8 gpa to apply.

MCC Honor’s Diploma is available to students who meet the following ac-

ademic requirements:

Application and Acceptance to the Honors Diploma Program to include

Florida Tech Honors Partnership admissions. You do not need to com-

plete Honors Partnership Application. The Honors Diploma is suffi-

cient.

A minimum of two (6 credit hours) of FIT classes through the MCC/FIT

Honors Partnership

A minimum of 14 Honors or Advanced Placement courses which must

include a minimum of 2 Advanced Placement courses

3 consecutive years of the same foreign language

4 years of Math to include a class equivalent to Honors Calculus or

above

4 years of Science to include a class equivalent to Honors Physics or

above

A minimum weighted grade point average of a 3.8 after 7 semesters

No semester grade lower than a B

MCC students will attend class on the FIT campus. FIT courses are taught by highly quali-

fied faculty members. Students are expected to do college level work and will be held to col-

lege standards for grading.

Entrance requirements include a minimum of a B in related high school coursework, compet-

itive SAT or ACT scores, and a counselor recommendation. A SAT minimum of a 550 Math

for Math classes and 550 for English classes is required. ACT composite score of 26.

All grades will be recorded on an official FIT transcript and a MCC transcript where

they will earn a 1.0 weighted designation. If a student withdraws from an FIT course after

the initial drop/add period, the WP/WF will be reflected on the MCC transcript. A no credit

study hall will be added to the student schedule.
