After centuries of human neglect, the jungle hasclaimed the temples, courtyards and paths ofthis once-great Buddhist monastery. Discovery: Angkor Thom, Ta Prohm andThommanon. The great city of Angkor Thomonce was home to 1 million people. The Bayonis the temple in the center of the city. Its 54 towers feature carvings of more than 200smiling faces. Next, visit Ta Prohm. After centuries of human neglect, the jungle hasclaimed the temples, courtyards and paths ofthis once-great Buddhist monastery. Continueto Thommanon, a recently restored temple withexquisite Apsara carvings.
