The way in which we work has changed completely over the years.
The days when every employee had their own assigned workplace are
behind us. In fact, according to IDC, the number of mobile workers in
Western Europe will increase to 135 million by 2025.
The current situation – COVID-19 – not only accelerates this process,
it has also shown us the benefits of working from home. The home
office has now become the primary workplace and as a result, physical
meetings nowadays will always be joined by virtual participants. This
changes the role of the office. More and more, the office will be used to
maintain contact with colleagues and to use technology that they do
not have at home, such as an advanced video conferencing system or
interactive touchscreens for creative sessions.
Increasingly, companies will set up their office environments to suit the
task or tasks that employees want to perform at that time: with Activity
Based Workspaces.
This e-book provides an overview of which types of room suits the
specific needs of employees.
Meeting the needs of your employees: Activity Based Workspace
Now that we are increasingly working from home, it is important that the
workplace complies with a number of rules so that you cannot only do your
work effectively, but also safely and healthily work from home. A good
home workplace consists of at least a proper chair, a good table and the
right lighting. And if you also work with a desktop, you must also use an
extra screen, keyboard and mouse. Since the home workplace has become
the primary workplace, access to a Unified Communication & Collaboration
solution is indispensable
Home office
The concentration room is a small space intended for one person and
ideal for performing tasks that require focus and for which isolation from
environmental stimuli is desired. Think of writing a text, reading a report or
having a one-on-one video conversation with a colleague.

The huddle space is a small space, suitable
for up to six people. This accessible and
comfortable space is a suitable alternative
to the traditional meeting room. It is the
ideal space for a short consultation, a
quick brainstorming session or for a
personal conversation with the customer.
The space cannot be reserved and is freely
accessible to all employees.
A huddle space must be designed in such a
way that everybody effortlessly, from any
device, can participate and share content,
either physically or virtually through video
conferencing and can easily share content.

Whether it's team meetings, customer consultations or project meetings, every organization needs
meeting rooms. Productive & effective meetings require audiovisual & control solutions that
provide the appropriate support for any desired scenario. Think of being able to quickly and easily
share a presentation or setting up video calls with people external to the organization. (regardless
of the unified collaboration & communication platform that is used). Additionally, you want
users to get the most out of the technology. That is why it is important that the meeting room is
standardized throughout the organization, so that the technology is easily adopted and people can
work together efficiently, regardless of the location of the participants.
Effective, stylish and multifunctional, this is what characterizes
the boardroom. Given its size, seamless integration of audiovisual
solutions with the interior design of the room is extra important.
From the walls to the ceiling, the technology is neatly integrated. As with
the meeting room, it is important that the boardroom is standardized
so that the technology is easily adopted and one can work together
efficiently, regardless of the location of the participants.
The various functions of the advanced and integrated technology that
is present in the room are easily managed via a central control panel.

Having a brainstorm session in a traditional meeting room is often far from
ideal. Certainly not when many ideas are shared by various participants
that are providing their input. In creative spaces there are interactive
touch screens available where participants can create and share their
content in real time. In addition to this, creative spaces also have a social
character and thus come with comfortable chairs or sofas.

The reception is the first location visitors see. A
good first impression is important. The design, the
atmosphere and the appearance of the reception
determine the image of your organization and brand.
Think of the presence of seamlessly integrated video
screens that display company content, or panels
that visitors can use to register at arrival, or to look-
up the room in which their appointment takes place.

In some cases, it is nice to meet informally with colleagues, receive
guests for a short conversation or to just relax. A social space can
take on many forms. Think of the company restaurant, the lobby
or perhaps a room that is designed to reflect a cozy living room.
With the right audiovisual equipment, company information, the
latest news and the weather forecast can be presented. But also, in
these spaces - in which the best ideas often arise - solutions must
be available that facilitate informal collaboration & data exchange.

Quality sound and images are of crucial importance in the design of auditoriums. With
perfectly placed and tuned audio systems, the lecturer can convey his or her message clearly,
across the entire room, right down to the last seat. With the visual support of projectors
that display optimal image resolution and light output, the presentation is enhanced with
crystal-clear imagery. In addition, it is desirable that an auditorium contains one integrated
control panel to operate all audiovisual functions easily.

An effectively designed training room is characterized by extensive audiovisual possibilities
that help participants to optimally focus on the content of training, whether the trainees
are physically present or participate virtually. This increases involvement and helps both
participants and teachers to achieve better results.

The spaces that you provide as an organization must meet the needs
of the end users. If there are insufficient solutions available, or if the
technology does not function properly, a solution does not meet the
needs of users and does not help optimize the business. Solutions are
then quickly perceived as user-unfriendly and unnecessary and therefore
not used. Technology that does not work or is not understood, limits
productivity.
Our Smart Room concept ensures a consistent and predictable user
experience for every type of room, by monitoring the occupancy of the
rooms, the frequency in which the solutions are used and monitors any
technical malfunction in the room. This provides users more trust to the
user and contributes to an optimal occupancy rate of all rooms.
