ikolay and Julia live in the same

neighbourhood and go to the same school

every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Every other weekend they attend Magical Weekend

School or children o magical creatures. Julia really likes

school and she is one o the top students. But Mikolay

wouldnt mind i there werent as many Mondays,

Wednesdays and Fridays as they are. He doesnt mind

the weekend school because he is allowed to do lots

o magic, which he really likes and is very good at.

When Mikolay and Julia are not at school, they usually

go exploring and adventuring.

Mikolays and Julias mummies are both witches and

are in charge o xing things. Mikolay and Julia dont

quite know what the job involves but it must be hard

because both mummies dont spend much time

at home, which gives Mikolay and Julia plenty o

opportunities to explore.

I want to show you something

said Mikolay when Julia walked through

the door.

Does it mean trouble again? asked Julia

watchully, while ollowing him around

the corner. Im still not allowed to eat

sweets ater the last trouble we got into.

Mikolay pointed to the mouse size hole

in the wall and said, This is where weare going to go.

But we are way too big, replied Julia.

I know that. That is why we are going to

use a bit o magic, said Mikolay smiling

while pulling a wand out o his let sock.

I you use magic outside the school, we

are going to get into more trouble than

ever. They will lock us up and there will

be no sweets and no adventuring ever

again, protested Julia.

We have to practise, dont we? Besides,

were at home so nobody will ever

see us doing magic, said Mikolay. But

Julia wasnt convinced. Come on Julia,

its going to be un and therell be

loads o new books or you to read,

carried on Mikolay. He touched the wall

with his wand while saying Eis Roto

Onac three times and grabbed Julias

hand. Within seconds they were bothtransported through a very narrow

tunnel to an amazing room.

The room was ull o magical objects,animals, photographs, paintings, strange

looking plants and many ying books.

This place is antastic, gasped Julia in

delight.

I only ound this room a ew days ago

and it seems that it keeps changing

every time I come, said Mikolay.

But Julia didnt hear Mikolay. She was

already exploring a huge bookshel.

When Mikolay noticed that Julia was

gone he wandered of too.

However he didnt get very ar when

he heard singing voices coming romsomewhere in the room. Because

he couldnt see anything, he kept on

walking ollowing the voices.

Quickly, come over here, Mikolay

called, looking at the huge

wardrobe.

Im way too busy at the

moment, replied Julia reading

a huge book on oriental plants.

Come on, this is a real adventure I have

here, screamed Mikolay again, this time

more impatiently.

Julia put her book down reluctantly and

went to nd Mikolay.

But this is just a wardrobe, said Julia

quite surprised that Mikolay even

bothered her.

Look how big and old it is. I think

someone is singing inside

the wardrobe. Can you hear

that? Lets open it, suggested

Mikolay and without much

thinking he pulled his wand

out, touch the wardrobes

door and said Eis Izras three times.

Slowly the wardrobes door opened.

I love airies so much. I would so

love to touch one, whispered Julia in

excitement when she saw that inside the

wardrobe that lots o airies were

hiding.

You can touch me. But please do not

touch my wings, they are very ragile,

replied one airy. Im Farina, the airy

queen, she introduced hersel.

Julia heard rom her mummy that airies

were gentle creatures with singing

voices just like the mermaids. Farinasvoice sounded just like a song.

What are you all doing in the wardrobe?

asked Mikolay.

Me and my ellow airies are running

away rom a huge monster that keeps

destroying our home

land, sobbed Farina.

What kind o monster?

Mikolay wanted to

know.

I dont know what that monster

is but its terribly scary, has huge

jaws, creates clouds o smoke and makes

loads o noise everywhere it goes.The worst part is that he is destroying

everything on his way: animals, airies,

owers, dwarves, continued Farina.

Where do you live Farina? asked Mikolay.

We live in the airy orest o huge trees

which is on the other side o the lake,

said Farina.

Mikolay, we must do something to help

them! screamed Julia.

We need to get to the other side o thelake i you want to help the airies, said

Mikolay.

Ok. We can do it. I dont have to eatsweets like everyday, do I?

whispered Julia to hersel.

But how can we get to the

other side o the lake without

telling mummy? wondered

Mikolay.

We could use my crystal ball or

transportation, suggested Julia pulling

out a small crystal ball out o her pocket.

Hold on to my hand Farina! shouted

Mikolay while being sucked into the

crystal ball together with Julia.

The three o them landed with their

aces right in the mud in the airy orest

in a trice. They stood up and lookedaround. Many trees were pulled out o

the ground with their roots crying or

water. The lake was all polluted with

thick layers o grease, the grass and

owers were squashed, many animals

were walking around aimlessly looking

or ood and crying loudly.

Total elocological destruction, said

Mikolay trying to use one o the unny

long words Julia was always using.

Ecological Julia corrected him whilst

trying to help one o the unicorns to

stand up.

Mikolay didnt say anything more, only

looked and looked, trying to nd some

traces o the huge monster.

Finally he said, These are not monsters

Farina. These are people and building

machines. It seems that the humans arebuilding something in your orest.

But our orest is sacred and magical

with many unusual creatures and plants

living here. We dont want people to

destroy everything! said Farina.

We need to stop the humans Mikolay,

like right now! shouted Julia whilepulling Mikolays hand.

I think we need to ask mummy or

help. We cant do it on our own Julia,suggested Mikolay.

I we tell your mummy or my mummy,

I wont be able to eat sweets like orever

and there will be no more adventuring

or you. They will lock us up and never

let us out again, said Julia.

Oh, you might be right, said Mikolay

thoughtully. I we are not going to ask

or help rom grown ups, we will have to

use a very powerul spell.

Are you allowed to use magic? asked

Farina.

Technically speaking, Im not allowed to

use advanced magic such as charms and

hexes, admitted Mikolay.

But in this situation we have no other

choice Farina said Julia. I we dont

want to get grown-ups involved and iwe want to save your orest. The quicker

we use magic, the quicker you all will

be able to come back home. And you

have to promise not ever tell anyone thatMikolay used advanced magic.

I promise I wont, said Farina and

crossed her heart three times.

Julia, do you think we should try a

deactivating hex? asked Mikolay Ive

heard mummy use it once in a very

similar situation.

It is powerul enough to turn the

machines into dust and create a

magnetic eld or uture protection. The

question is i you can do it? asked Julia.

Julia, Mikolay, look. screamed Farina

pointing her nger towards the lake

rom where a group o people with

huge dogs emerged.

I have no choice, I have to try. Fingers

crossed. replied Mikolay. He took hiswand out o his ront pocket and hastily

said Eis Nasem Mocurcium three

times touching the surers o the lake,

the allen tree and the muddy earth.

The humans were just about to catch

Mikolay when Julia activated the crystal

ball grabbed Mikolays hand and

transported the three o them saely

back home.

Several days went by beore Mikolay and

Julia ound out that the airies returned

to their orest and none o the building

works were ever going to be carried out

in the orest o tall trees again. However

the damage the humans had caused to

the orest will need a long time to repair.

preserve the trees, help to eed the animals and clean

rubbish some people have let behind.
