1. Ropa de Relief August 24, 2013

2. From August 23, 2013-September 4, 2013, I volunteered on a medical team in Ranquitte, Haiti. In addition to the medical work, I brought funds raised by Ropa de Relief to replace the roof on a local home. Most importantly, we spent time with members of the community to determine ways Ropa de Relief can help 3. The home in need of a roof! 4. Question 1: Who did you serve, and whatdid you accomplish that day? We served a local family of 6 by paying for a new roof. We served 4 local builders by providing work. We served the community by better understanding their immediate and long-term needs. 5. Question 2: What is your team's plan foran ongoing relationship with the nonprofit? We will continue contact with community leaders in Ranquitte. This will allow us to determine appropriate use of funds, and ensure resources are given to projects that are sustainable. We will continue to create awareness and raise funds through blogging and events. 6. Edelin Phillipe is a major community activist in Ranquitte! He took us on a hike to visit homes in need of repair or replacement. Edelin is a key informant for the community, as well as a major activist for community improvement! 7. Question 3: What would your nonprofit doif they won part of the prize money? Ropa de Relief is currently building homes for families in the Ranquitte region, for approximately $1,500 (USD). Ropa de Relief is also establishing a scholarship program to send local high school students to college or grad school for approximately $83(USD) per year. 8. Chachou will be the first recipient of the scholarship for medical school! Additionally, funds will be provided to build his family a new home, as the current one is collapsing due to heavy rains. 9.
