Hello friends,
Welcome to the 2017 NJCAA Men’s National Tennis Tournament at Collin College. Whether this is your first trip to our Spring Creek Campus or you’re a returning participant, it’s great to have you here. We hope it’s a wonderful experience for you.
On behalf of the entire Collin College community, I extend our best wishes for every success – not only in this athletic competition, but also in your academic endeavors. As student athletes and coaches, you balance hard work in the classroom with a high level of commitment to your sport. Your excellence and work ethic have earned you a spot at this tournament. I am confident that the same dedication to your studies will provide you with even greater opportunities off the court.
I want to thank those responsible for planning and arranging this wonderful event. Their dedication and hard work make this tournament possible.
Collin College is a growing and vibrant institution. We’re proud to host the 2017 NJCAA Men’s National Tennis Tournament and hope you take great memories with you when you return home.
Thank you again, and good luck to you all.
Sincerely,
Dr. H. Neil MatkinDistrict President
Collin College is an equal opportunity institution and provides educational and employment opportunities without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability,
veteran status or other legally protected class.
“Sports do not build character, they reveal it.” John Wooden
Your time has come. You have reached a pinnacle mark in your athletic career. Make sure you celebrate this moment and reflect on the sacrifices you made to get here. Once the championship concludes, what will be your next move? Each day you will be faced with decisions upon which the rest of your life will hinge. Acting as a person of integrity and character will lay the ground work for a solid future, whether that future lies in athletics or elsewhere. For most student-athletes competing in this championship, sports will be replaced with other endeavors – family, education and career – but it will be one’s character that will most define their success long after the crowds stop cheering. Life goes by quickly. Enjoy the championship experience with your coaches and teammates and compete to your fullest potential. You have worked hard and invested greatly to get to this stage, have the courage to allow your character direct your destiny today, and in the future. All the best,
Mary Ellen Leicht Executive Director
